Putting a 166" on my 2009 D8 155"

I have a 155" on my 2009 Dragon RMK 800. I could upgrade my track length to a 166" for around 500 bucks.

Questions:

Will my skid hardware (scissor arms, braces, torsions springs, ect...) bolt up to the 2005 900 RMK 166" rails? Will the 2 wheel kit work on the 166" that comes off my 155 rails?

I know the track is the "older" design, I'm fine with that, I'd rather have a longer track.

Will my drivers work? I imagine the pitch is the same.

Thanks for any input to help make this happen.

I would look around my buddy bought a 174 for $450 and another bud sold his for $550 even keep your eyes out for a 162 2.5 camo just a all around badarse track works good in all conditions but ice.

Drivers are different... 2.86 on your D8, 2.52 on the 166.

All the other stuff will bolt up, rear skis are virtually the same, just narrower on the D8 and so your arms and such will take care of that.

The 166 is a stupid good track.

Well thanks for the great info. Ive talked with powder miner today and it would appear I'll be buying his 163" setup. I'll try that out for now and on the next new sled I purchase ill make it a 174" right out of the box.

Couldn't agree more. Drivers, rails, and a 166" track and you are in business Harry.

Well, I found a 2009 Dragon 163" track and skid for a fair price. So I'll put that on my sled and not the 166".

A few reasons, I think my stock tunnel may look okay with the 163", with a 166" i'd most likely need a tunnel extension. If I were to go tunnel extension route I'd just go with a 174".

Rails: The stock 900 RMK rails don't look as "cool" as the 2009 Rails. So I'd end up buying new Ice Age rails, and again, if i went that route I'd just go 174".

Lastly, I found a sweet deal on this stock 2009 163" setup.

PS: I trimmed my new track as per the F-bomb track mod, but no screws in it.

Merry Christmas!!!!!

Thanks for your help

I'm wishing I had a 162, 163, or 166 on mine.

Looks good enough for me to throw a leg over when I come through town.
