put a order in for a mcx turbo last night, help me out!!

well a good buddy bought a new 2010 162" nitro last week, we had it out over the week and he was dissapointed in power and traction, and now wants more, lol.... after one week

so we droped it off in leftbrige and put the order in

280/330hp mcx turbo kit, with rod and piston upgrade, this comes with boost control to lower boost in trees, comes as well with clutching... boost, air/fuel gauges

we also ordered advid drivers, 3" 162 track, as for skid, the 2010 chassie has the new light skid, not sure what to do their, and help would be appreicated

now if anyone knows of something we missed or something that does not sound right, please fill us in, we are going on the my little nitro exsperice and the installers advice

thanks... have till monday pm to make changes:D

I'd spring for a clutch kit (supertips\shockwave) from Outlaw. I followed Dustin's setup for my altitude and its been perfect.

you took it to lethbridge? Who the new dealer who has never done one?

MCX 270 kit is a nice kit and what I would go with....

Pincher Creek has done lots of MCX stuff....

that's what I was thinking. who's doing them in Lethbridge. Myles in Pincher is doing up a sweet nytro with cr tunnel and the goods right now for a guy up in red deer.

Fred, I second going with Myles in Pincher. He has done tons of these & knows his chit....I also question the 3" track, some guys are having trouble keeping the track together when it gets spooled up...anyone else with experience?

I also say Myles in pincher !
Got a great price for my turbo and parts from him so I bought everything from their !

i don't think 3 inch fits unless your taking the cooler out, go with 2.5 camo extreme. shoe horn a 16 in if you want, works well for me.

Maybe they got Willy to come back? This could be interesting! I don't see a 3" working with the stock tunnel :confused:. Oh yeah, Miles 's # is 403-627-2127. Your buddy might want to write that down! ;):beer;

I'm currently getting a complete build from Myles at RMY in Pincher, he has great knowledge of MCX and all the motor tricks required if you are in the need past 270HP......:)

Merry Boostmas!!!:D

Please tell us more!

as for the installer his name we think was WILL, we were given him threw another guy (stafford) who he had him buid his sled........ i think he works at a sled dealer, and does this after hours in his garage in n leftbrige, he told us he has done many tnitros sleds,and showed us some pictures, i thought he new his stuff...

the installer was not sure if he would have the clearence, but said he would take another look and see if he could make the 3" fit... but if that power will fly them apart, then maybe not

just got off the phone with stafford, he says no problem with Will and he works closeley with miles for less $$

miles was next pick and we will be in close contack

thanks all

hmmm Nytro builder that does not know whether a track will fit...hmmm

answer is, you will get it to work, but you will ahve to pull the front cooler, build a mod for the hole, and get another method of cooling that bad boy, like a fabcraft U cooler or maybe CR makes something too...

IMHO, that should be a major red flag!!! for the cash your spending, would STRONGLY suggest highly reputable builder...the install is the cheapest part...but the most important part!!!

Willy knows his stuff. Just hasn't tried to stuff a 3" in a stock Nytro tunnel yet. He has and can work on my Yammys any time! :beer;

ahhh, willy. he did my nytro up. does a fantastic job. reason he dont' know if a 3" lug will fit in there is because he works at a cat dealership(no longer at the yammi dealer) and doesnt' deal with yammi on a daily basis as far as the latest info out.

Install

If the install is free its still too much if the guy screws it up. Who you going to go to if there is a problem and you got some carnage in the engine? Any dealer thats in the business will look after their mistakes. Whats a guy working out of his garage after hours going to do for you? Also when the time comes to sell that "TNytro" I know if I was looking, one of the first questions I would ask you is "Who did the install?" My initiall install was done by a dealer who's tech had done only MCX kits but was willing to do my PL kit and there were no others that I knew of anywhere close so I went that way. MISTAKE!!! Timing was not done properly but fortunately it caused no harm. Not producing nearly the power it should have. Turbo oil line was pinched and restricted & fuel line was trying to make a 90 and was half restricted in one spot. All this was discovered at the manufacturer when it went back there last summer. Should have gone there in the first place.
Some things I think are worthy of consideration when you are dumping $8+G into your engine. These guys all seem to be fairly confident in the dealer in PC so its likely a good idea.

Just my opinion though.

Will gets two thumbs up :beer; :beer;
Great guy and he knows his stuff.
He did my motor and Thistledoo's motor as well !

Will was the guy at the yammi shop doing the turbo installs. not like he doesn't know what he is doing. I do agree with you. If something goes wrong Myles has covered a couple of engines to make things right with a client. Will would bend over backwards to make it right, dont' think he has the funds to replace an engine or try and get things covered under warranty. I wouldn't hesitate for either place to install though.

3"

I ran 3" track with 280 hp all last year. 900 kms. No issues with track at all.
It will fit in the stock tunnel, you have to remove the front cooler. Turn bolts around and shave rivits down. Just my .02
