Pump gas????

I see alot of companies are stating that they are selling "pump gas" kits. So what quality of gas are they using? In oregon we have the 10% ethanol fuel as our "pump gas", a very few stations have offroad fuel that doesnt have the ethanol in it. I see that VP offers a better fuel for power equipment 94 octane rating. So without knock sensors, what does a person do for fuel if the kit has to have 92 octane and you get 87 thinking your getting 92.

Thanks Tom........

Good question. A friend of mine swears that our 91 octane supreme gas is plain ol regular gas. I don't have a problem with it yet, where I run regular gas in all my sleds and vehicles anyway, but if I were to boost my sled, how would I be sure and confident that my sled is getting the actual rated and higher octane fuel ? Is there a proven additive besides mixing race fuel that a person can add to their fuel to make sure they're safe ?

I have been running 91 octane or better for 3000km no problems. I have been running 12lbs of boost. Mine is not the low boost kit but it still gives you an idea. Every gas station has 91 octane. Chevron has 94 octane for that little extra.

I always add a little bit of Torco Accelerate as insurance. Have done this with two modded 2 strokes that require 91 octane as well as a T-Apex. Cheap insurance and easy to transport with you.

i know some places especially in the winter the 91 was 91, then it sits around, gets water in it, blah blah.

if you want to be safe, run say a gallon or two of 100+ octance race fuel per tank.. might cost you $5 more a tank, but cheaper then motors. and avoid ethanol, especially if your jetting/mapping is on the leaner side of things.
