09 BD pump turbo
4000 to 7000 elv
pulls 7900 to 8100 depending on load
DD mag turbo weights 80 grams loaded in tip.
stock secondary spring orange 44 stait reverse notch helix
stock gearing
running 6to8 lbs of boost

Over all very difficult to tree ride in deep snow with this setup , trench very quickly . lets just say I was digging more yesterday than in a whole season it seems:face-icon-small-fro

Does anyone else ride this setup out there, I want to give it a chance to work ,

I should also say that it was mor manageable at 5 pounds than 8.

Any thoughts from any one I know there are lots of these machines out there.

what are you running?

Whats your engagement? I opted for a green/wht spring. Comes in just above 4500 rpm. Works awsome in the trees. No dragstrip type engagement. Vohks black spring works well also. Gear it down, youll love it. You will learn thumb management quickly!

not sure what my engagement is I will check , yes throttle control is something I will have to work on, but I think its more than that.

Snowjunky are you running this helix, what track do you have. I have a pc 153

I put my PG turbo on my 09 last year. Hated it out of the box. Droped some gear and went back to stock spring and helix. Night and day. We are a little higher but im sure it will work for you too

Would taking some of the weight out of the tip and adding it to the number 1 hole [closest to the heel] keep the track from over-spinning upon engagement? Sort of a smoother engagement. Then continue to add or subtract weight from the tip to achieve your desired RPM. This is what I have been told. Definitely no expert here.

44 is way too much initial angle on the helix on for a turbo. Something like a 36/44 or 34/42 would work a lot better. Also lower gears help a lot with the bogs.

lots of people are going back to the straight cut helix's, I am for this year, I am also running more boost (12 to 14 lbs) your clutching set up seems to be what a lot of guys are running for race gas set ups, What Primary spring are you running

Going to be putting a 37 47 multi angle helix cant wait to try this it makes more sense to me but Im no expert.

im guessing you have a 2860

2871 - much better, builds boost at a lower RPM, thus getting that track up on step and moving forward not down

i hear folks are going larger and larger on the compressor side

I dont think building boost quick enough is the problem I have seen this kit on others work very well and building boost quickly was never a problem.

Is there anyway to turn down fuel pressure on a boondocker pumpgas setup. maybe somebody from boondocker can chime in , this is another topic though.
