Pulling motor from 09 M8 HCR

So I have the day off and I'm trying to get my motor pulled so I can get my bulkhead welded up. Since I've never done this can anyone give any pointers on what is the easiest way to disconnect the throttle bodies? Also is there only 2 bolts holding on the oil tank?

Attached is a picture of how far I am.

you should remove your intake from the nose cone and pull the inner intake that connects to the throttle bodies forward(wiggle back and forth) should move aheada few inches and this will allow you to remove the throttle bodies off the boots. dont forget the 2 clamps that hold the boots tight to the throttle bodies. Its tight will come out. you also have to remove the coolant line from the bottom of the bodies both ends. Good luck its easy.

OK thanks, I have the front airbox out, and I was wondering about that middle airbox. So I'll pull that forward some. Then do the throttle bodies come out with the motor or can they just be disconnected and left in place?

I was doing some searching, it sounds like I can leave the oil tank in, just need to disconnect it on the bottom of the sled?

Yes just more room without it there and there are 3 torques screws through the chassis for the oil tank to come out. Its easiest to move the and intake a couple of inchs forward to allow for throttle bodies to move forward, also you can disconnect the coolant and the oil at the same time from the bottom. when brake in though if you reuse the oil injection make sure you bleed it for a little while to insure that all air bubbles are out. I like to use a coat hanger cut in 2 with a hook to hook the i\oil pump arm and pull full oil to purge the system.

OK, so I got the motor out. I disconnected the oil line from the tank side. It will be near impossible to route the hose through the chassis hole when I go to put the motor back in. Should I disconnect it from both sides and put it back in the chassis and then hook it back up to both sides after the motor is in?

Its extremely tight to hook up that oil line? On both sides!

Any suggestions?

I removed my oil injection @ 1000 miles when I fixed my chassis cracks. Have never put it back on and would recommend the same with a new motor. I just brokin my new 1000 crate motor and first thing i did was remove the pump from the motor and went with my oil delete kit, I also installed a grease zert in the bottom of the case( made me sick to thred a zert into a whole in a new motor) but all is good so far and have about 100 miles on the new bullit. You can re install the oil lines if you want but i would make sure you bleed it well!!!
