Is there good riding around the Pueblo, CO? Looking at taking a job there. Any and all advice is appreciated. Thank you

Pueblo would put you 2 to 3 hours from various excellent riding areas.

Where are you coming from?

I am from Michigan and have done all my mountain riding at Togwotee. I am thinking of taking a job in Pueblo. I am open to move anywhere since as a Travel RN there are jobs in many states. The pay scale just varies a little. I will be getting a list of cities this week I can post and ask for advice. Is this something I can post to general snowmobiling?

I would defiantly visit Pueblo before pursuing a job to far.

Pueblo is a love it or hate it city.

Thank you. The job assignment is 13 weeks with the option to renew for an additional 13. I dont think I will have the time/money to visit beforehand. It seems like a relatively small town. I appreciate the advice.

If you like bars, you'll love Pueblo. But it is not a mountain town by any stretch. Canon City is a little closer to mountains. Just look at a map in terrain mode.

You guys are being nice, Pueblo is the armpit of Colorado. There is a reason you can buy a house for 1/4th of what they cost in Colorado Springs or Denver there.

Pueblo riding

Actually just 45mins away is Ophir Creek. Smaller riding area but has many open areas accessible by the main trail. Also from there you can go south and west to Wolf Creek and Chama, NM both about 3 hrs away. Better going that way then to fight I-70 traffic. There are two local clubs for the area. Check out the CO Snowmobile web site next fall.
