Short of pulling out the entire engine, how the hel do you get the pto side exhaust valve out? The steering is in the way..... Even undoing the upper bracket on the steering doesn't seem to help....

It is tight. Need to loosen steering stem and remove bellows cover and then guillotine will just barely slip out.

yea thats a real fun one! haha gotta get a swivle head real short socket, or take the steering apart have fun!

service manual says to take two bolts out of steering bracket and remove all 4 bolts from exhaust valve. I'm assuming it then comes out in pieces. Only had my assault for a week, so haven't had to do this yet.

just like murph says, undo all 4 powervalve bolts, you will need to pull the plastic cover for the bellows off the powervalve. undo the 2 bolts that hold the steering colum in place and push it forward and to the mag side. pull valve out and to the left, is tight but will go in and out this way.

Thanks guy's, it worked but might just be the toughest valves to clean that I have run across. Check the small holes that go into the cylinders, mine was plugged on the pto side.
