Comes with rack 40 MM carbs, PSI thermostat, VForce reeds, ceramic coated twin pipes drilled for EGT's. Does not include oil pump or engine plate.

Motor is in excellent condition but has not been run in three years. Motor has never had any cylinder, piston, crank or heat problems and has always been run with water temp gauge, supplemental cooler and synthetic Red Line oil. Jetting, compression and timing all kept mild to not beat the motor. Although they are adjustable, to avoid any potential problem with the head gaskets, I have never adjusted the dial-a-dome heads.

I have kept it as a back-up to my PSI 1085 thinking I might need it down the road.......I dont. The 1085 has been bullet-proof. I have kept it covered, dry and lubed. Motor and pipes were installed in Polaris Gen II chasis and fit perfect.

Not a top-end kit. Case is also a PSI case with RAD crank.

May 5, 2009 price reduction to $2,500. I prefer not to ship but the local polaris dealer has shipped motors for me before so that is a possibility.

Private Message me if you have any questions.

Needles (9DFH2-59) and jets (380's') in carbs are set up to run at 6,000 to 9,000. Compression and timing (13 degrees) set so motor runs on pump gas only. Water temp never exceeded 130.

I am the second owner of the motor. I ran ran the motor in my 01 Gen II for no more than a total of 500 miles. The original owner also put 500 miles on the motor.

Let me know if you have other questions.

Thanks, Dick

checking one last time this season for any interest in this motor.

Thanks guys.

GHF, thought you were going to keep this motor for a spare for the gen2...

I think you can get mount kits for it for a ZX chassis too. That would rock! But you would have to come up with pipes to fit too.

TTT for ya.

Sledhed,

Thanks for the idea on a possible mount into the ZX chasis.......that would be wild......hadnt thought of that. If i ever go that route I may need a test pilot to see how she runs side by side next to the 1085.........you interested??

Thanks again.

Woo-hoo let's go... :D

At $2,500 and complete with the pipes, carbs, and reeds that's a screamin' deal. Just make sure your handle bars are securely fastened to your chasis.

Give me a call if you would like to discuss.

Thanks, Dick

What kind of HP are you talking with this engine? How do you think this motor would fit in a 04 Edge chassis? Wifes sled spun the PTO bearing out and I am trying to decide if I should get her motor fixed or buy a different one all together. She is a power hound!

Never had it on a dyno and the HP numbers from PSI (and all aftermarket mod shops are often questionable). Not sure it's a good fit for the wifes sled since it makes a bit of noise and really rips. Also not sure how it fits into the edge chasis as I have always had it in my Gen II chasis.

Dont know your wife by my guess is that pull & go with stock reliability is preferable to a noisy mod motor from a company with a suspect reputation. You may want to go with the "big bearing" upgrade along with porting, heads and single pipe from SLP. Gear it down a bit and a bit more grip in the secondary and she'll be a happy camper. However if your wife is a speed freak who likes purple and wants to whip you a$$ up the hill and embarrass you with a highmark this might work.

Honestly, I think this motor is perfect for the guy who has experience with engines and wants to do a mod sled for spring hillclimbing that's not his primary sled. The reason I say spring hillclimbing vs. powder is because, not being the worlds best fabricator of air boxes, I prefer to run the motor minus the hood with the Kick A$$ air pod filters minus the pre-filter nylon sock thingies. With no airbox for outside cold air draw if you have poor airflow through hood vents because of all the pow then you end up sucking warm air and warm air sucks. Although I have never had to do hillside tuning the air pods also give easy access to carbs for jet and needle adjustments.

OK please stop the fighting over this motor. I know you guys are crushed but it is no longer for sale.

I have decided to take on another project and see if I can make it work in a 04 Edge Vertical Escape.

I cant wait to see if it starts after sitting for a few years.
