Pro's dead again!

Strange, when I asked Eric about Pro motors he said he had great luck with them. That was toward the end of the season. Sorry to hear you had another motor issue. The Pro motors have been holding up very well. More than I can say for some of those new ProClimb 800's. Sorry, I couldn't resist either.

Yeah, dealers never make up stories about the sleds they sell :face-icon-small-dis My favorite one is "first time I've heard of that happening"

First thing I do is pull the pump and go pre-mix. That way I know there is one less thing to fail. Saves a few pounds on those heavy cat's too!

Cant do that on a Pro. The crank bearings wont get oiled properly. One big thing going for the turbo guys is that if you premix it goes through the top end because of the additional injectors.

You can't run premix only, or you can't remove the oil pump? What about drilling between the journals to get lube to the bearings? Lots of guys still do this on cats, though not proven to be needed on the laydown motors.

Im not taking apart a new Pro motor to drill holes :face-icon-small-sho The injectors on the pro are in the transfer ports so even if you did the fuel never makes it into the bearings.

*Update*

My second motor died from a rod bearing failure, the dealer had found a slightly pinched oil line AFTER they preformed the oil line relocation update from Polaris. It seems the dealer is taking responsibility and sending my motor to Indy Specialty's to have it inspected and rebuilt.

Thats how it should be. Good to hear there is still customer service out there from dealerships and taking responsibility. Better now then in a month or two when season is in full swing I guess.

Losing a sled 1 mile into the ride sounds like dealer screwed something up.

What caused all the motor problems? If I lost one motor I would want to know the cause, three?

I had the same thing happen to my 08 XP after the dealer replaced the leaky oil bottle. There was an air bubble that was restricting oil flow and my crank seized in about 10 minutes.

So oil injection got yanked on the 09 XP and no issues related to lack of lubrication.
