Pros and cons all brands?

anyone have 09 up yz450f air intake solution pictures?

Isn't 2010 the first year the YZ motor was turned around? If so, you'll have the same thing going on as the rest of us... either put the Timbersled prefilter over your stock unoiled foam filter (I picked up a new one that wasn't pre-oiled, works well) or build a pod setup and remove the stock airbox/intake boot. Search the forums for "air intake" and I'm sure you'll find what other people have done.

SO as simple as a un oiled new filter with a prefilter over it?

For cheap and no work, yes. Just make sure to bring the foam filter inside if you are going to ride back to back days so that it can fully dry out. Sometimes the moisture hangs in the filter and you get a quick freeze when you start out the next morning. I like filters that never touched oil since sometimes the oil/water mix will turn into a thick gooey paste and obviously no air is going to get through that crap.

Yes, or you can run with no foam filter. Snow pre-filter only, just like is designed for sleds. I have found the pre-filter will "suck" up against the foam filter underneath the pre-filter and "glaze over" restricting air flow. It will get moist and stick and freeze to the foam. Boondockers design is to address this. A pre-filter only, no foam. The pre-filter is loose and floppy and has room to flex and move, keeping it clean. In snow with no dry dust etc, you don't really need the foam underneath it. If you choose to run the foam, be sure it is a new, clean, dry one like Rush said.

ditch the foam filter on the YZ, get the prefilter from outerwears that is fitted to the cage and run that and the T/S one over it. Take off your airbox and hot glue/seal all nooks and crannies you can see. Also prefilter over the intakes on the front of the shrouds.

a pod set up on the 10+ YZ "will not work" according to some people much more knowledgeable than myself. I havent tried it because once i got my stock set up sealed it has been fine.

I will try to get some pics for the YZ guys, there seems to be alot of talk about it.

Also, anyone with a 10+ YZ should really look into getting the GYTR tuner and loading up the Jay Marmont Race Map. Most good Yammy dealers should have the tuner and be able to load the map for ya if you dont want to buy the tuner.
