Project weight loss!

Ok fellas this will be my 1st post. I have 12 1100T. I have hit the gym hard and I'm am down some weight,so now it's my cats turn. I have some mods already but need to loose some weight,
Already have
Mbrp st pipe
Light wt battery
Boondocker 1.9
Vertical post
38" a arm.
So let's hear it? I have considered the carbon fiber route

weight loss

i am waiting on my parts thru edge, C3 belt drive around 18# loss, carbon fiber hood,12# loss, carbon fiber fuel tank 20# loss, so almost 50#s total, cost around 5500 installed. cant wait to ride it again.

We are in the process of making a full carbon fiber body kit for the Arctic Cat, including the hood, side panels, lower fenders, plentum, dash, windshield. I have the parts ordered to make the molds. Should be for sale in a couple months.

Not sure on pricing yet as I need to get the sizes for s/f. We are re-designing the hood somewhat to be able to make it.

We have had good luck selling our Patrick Custom Carbon full body kits for the Polaris models...

Any questions just ask..

Have you thought about making the race body for the pro climb?

Your sled is apart as we speak. Maybe you should a little power while its apart.

How much dose the belt drive lose ?
C3 sight says ( 11 lb weight savings ) are u doing extra stuff to lose 18 lb ?

And anybody have any other suggestions on light weight parts ?

Thanks

The C3 belt drive loses 10-12lbs. 8lbs of that is rotational in oil so it has to free up some throttle response and HP. The parts you don't put back in are significant. Also, if a belt blows it doesn't break the chain case or oil tank and you can put a new one on pretty fast. Those belts are super light too if you wanted to carry a spare. I would recommend buying 2 belts and breaking in the first, then take it off, install the second and break that one in. If it breaks it will wait until the worst possible moment and you want a well broken in belt to install and get you out.

I also did the TJ Patrick tunnel on my 1100. Mainly for the snow and ice build up as the stock part is pretty light. It does shed a ton of snow. The only under tunnel snow and ice build up is for the aluminum pieces that are there to protect the tail light wire. I'm going to remove those and do something else to handle that issue. The quality of his Carbon Fiber parts is pretty awesome, I was very impressed with the fit and especially the finish.

You can mount a small led up under the seat on the tank. That's what I did. The carbon fiber seems like a good idea. The c3 stuff is good but not ready to spend $4500 to lose 38 lbs. seems like 38lbs make a fair bit of difference.

I have done both the C3 and diamond S hoods. You lose more weight with the C3, but I like the huge venting on the diamond S. I've put a few belt drives on and customers love them. The C3 gas tank is really a nice piece.

Matte,

Thanks for mentioning how well our carbon fiber tunnel eliminates most of the ice and snow build up under the tunnel, it can add up to 30-50 lbs and more depending on the type of snow... Arctic Cat had mentioned to me they seen as much as 80-90 lbs build up, this is why I made them....Riding weight!!!

I can make the alum wire holder out of carbon fiber to eliminate the snow/ice build up...I have one for a 153, I need to get a wire harness holder for the 163 and make them...

I am making the Plentum carbon fiber too, this will help with HP with a gain in air flow and air volume.....the stock one is like a mouse maze, ours will be a straight flow and keep the air cooler as Carbon fiber does not conduct cold or heat, stays at very neutral temperature...

Hope to have the body kits ready by Sept. and have them on a couple sleds at Hay Days....

not sure on the weight loss yet, should be over 20 lbs I feel...

You can usually lose 5-6 lbs on the seat aloe

also do a oil deleteminus 7-8 lbs plus gives you piece of mind, and consistency.
porting the track is good for 2-3 lbs weight loss, also cut down your running boards maybe another lb, I cut out my x members on every other one and it is as strong as OEM., get rid of mud flap, - 1 lb., get ice scratchers and remove front side bogey wheels -3 lbs roughly, headlight delete, carry 6 fewer beers-4.5 lbs ha ha. I'm sure I'll get pe pe slapped for that one.
