PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT--HM Turbos belt drive regear options & 3" paddle package PRICING

Talking to Kevin at C3 Powersports and he recommends a 2.31 ratio for his extended belt drive as long as you aren't after high speed travelling. I had already changed out my top gear on my chaincase to a 19 tooth, so we'll see what happens when going to the belt drive. The belt is supposed to give you a wider range ie (lower lowend and higher topend). Also, C3 offers a multitude of gear ratios (ie different count gears) and they also use a tensioner. Also available in standard length and extended.

BTW the stock gearing is 20/42 not 20/41.

20/42 is 2.10
19/42 is 2.21
20/41 is 2.05

The 2013 stock Pro belt drive is 21/44 (2.095)

We run on the Doo,s 2.4 ratio on the 2.5 track and 2.5 ratio on the 3 inch .This rocks on the mountain

Stay tuned. I have new pricing info and a couple more tidbits about the 2012-13 warranty and product updates.

Maybe a bit off topic but since he is selling and getting the 3" track to fit, can you get a 16x3" to fit in a Pro??

So, I don't mean to Hijack the thread, but I tried over in the Turbo section and have got nothing. I made some changes to my '11 Pro, and wanted to see if I could get some gearing suggestions.

Last season, I have been running Stock Gearing (20/42), Stock Track (155" 5.1), Stock Drivers(8T), and about 10PSI of Boost. I was happy with the gearing with this setup.

THis Season, I have changed Drivers to 7T Avids, Track to a 155" Peak (still 2.86Pitch), and am planning on running the same boost levels (8-12PSI).

I am a bit worried that I will be geared too low due to the new drivers, but also know that I have picked up more rotating mass (and should grab harder/more snow) with the new track. I was thinking about starting out by going to a 21 tooth top gear. Anyone have any thoughts on gearing combinations that would work well with my setup? If I can save from buying a bunch of random gears, and pulling the cover on my chaincase a bunch this season that would be great.

For Reference, I am riding an average of 10K'
Thanks

What is your target top RPM?

Plug in your original numbers to see what the expected track speed is....make sure you get your top RPM, gear sizes, driver size and driver pitch correct.
Then see what your track speed is when you get the stock parameters in there.

Then play with driver size and/or gearing size to see what it does to your track speed.

According to this table you'll drop 10mph track speed by simply going from 8t to 7t drivers.

You'll get about 3 of that back by going to a 21t top gear instead of a 20t top gear.

This is just an idea of where a stock sled is in optimal conditions (flat ground and idea groomed snow)...with your turbo you will obviously see different numbers on the hill than a stocker.

Kits are in and Shane has begun to install them on 2013 sleds that are in his shop.

I've got pictures coming.

Last night, I shoved my fingers up in front of the 3" track and could get my finger knuckles in between the lugs and the bulkhead cooler. 1/2" to 2/3" clearance? Maybe 3/4" clearance?
