Problems with clutch

Was wondering if anyone out there has experienced the clutch slamming when going from forward to reverse? Seems to me that this would be very hard on the diamond drive. Thanks in advance for your input.

Ive seen this before also. when you go from forward to reverse or vise vera nothing moves in the secondary untill the primary engages and then it slams hard with the rollers in the secondary and the diamond drive taking the punishment. My 2010 M1000 did it pretty bad. It seemed the only thing I did to help was to set the belt deflection tighter. That way when I went into reverse it would gently roll the sheave back. The problem with that though was if I got the cluthes hot they would squeel. Maybe somebody has a better solution.

You should check your belt side clearance in you primary. Too much much side clearance will cause your primary to have a harsure ingagement and jerk your secondary.

I checked the clearance against my dads sled. same year and make sled, does not appear to differ from his setup with the exception that his works great. I did have a couple of broken rollers late season last year that have been since been replaced. But I think that was caused by my current problem. Thanks for the input guys.
