pro x 600 long track?

Hi all, I have an '02 pro x 600 with a pretty much stock VES motor. It currently has the 121'' track, but I have a 151X2 track and skid I was considering throwing in there... Thoughts?

Too much track? Maybe Port the track? will it have enough power? Performance expectations?

I think I would have to notch the track

Lower the front arm mounting point 3/4" and the suspension will work much better in the powder. Gear it to 19/41 just like an RMK. One hole in center if you plan on porting it, anymore and you lose floatation.

Do it. They run very well. Ask alot of question about mounting the skid though. That is the biggest concern. Getting all the geometry correct. What skid do you have for it?

The skid I have is out of an RMK. I still have the chassis from the RMk, can I just measure the mounting on the tunnel off that, or will it need to be different? What's the best tunnel extension?

Yes, measure off the RMK. Basically centered off the drivers but they should be identical to begin with, same location.

The chassis is a '98 wedge chassis, and the tunnel extension on it is pretty beat up, I'd need a new one for it anyways. It seems like swapping tunnels might be more work than just the skids, but maybe not? One thing I like about the Pro-x vs the RMK is the cooling capacity. I'm afraid if I just used the RMK heat exchanger, I might have trouble with it over heating, but maybe with the longer paddle track I'll need to modify the cooling system anyway? how about a radiator?

ProX

I have a 03 with a 660. Went to a U cooler and a standard edge tunnel extension on the stock tunnel. Available from SLP. Cools fine but I run scratchers too. U cooler actually has more surface area than the stock coolers. Running 156 X 2.
Lots of opinions given above but I have found that with the long travel WE front shocks and a RMK rear you can't get the geometry quite right. You will still have lots of ski pressure no mater how low you drop the rear. Mine still works well but it will not float in the powder like a RMK. The suspension arms on the rear ProX suspension are longer than the RMK and yes they are higher in the tunnel but even dropping the RMK as low as possible it still doesn't float like the RMK does. Rider forward on the ProX may also contribute to that. Keep that in mind.
Measure back from the driver on the RMK and place your front mounting hole that far back and as low as you can on the ProX. Build and place rear drop brackets the same distance behind the front mounting point as the RMK and you should be good.
Still a very fun sled.
I added Perc to mine

Wedge RMK skid is a downgrade. Just use rail extensions on Pro-X skid. Edge RMK skid is better than the old one. Tunnel extension should work.

Have a Polaris Aux rear cooler I'd sell you, $115 shipped Priority mail in the US. Saw one in swap advertised for $200. Mine is brand new.

I'll have to check into exactly what kind of skid it is It is only out of the '98 rmk, but since someone before me put in the 151 skid, which is a true 151 skid, not an extension. so it can't be OEM from the wedge rmk, since they didn't make it with a 151 track.

I would like to add reverse, but it is my understanding that adding reverse to an '02 motor requires significant modification. It is also my understanding that '02 is before they went to rider forward on the pro-x.
