you can make it much easier on your self if after removing the old track you remove the bearing from the quick drive , install the track and drivers and then tap the bearing back into place . i just did mine this weekend and it was a piece of cake this way.

should i just order a new bearing and throw it in while i’m there?
sled only has 400 miles on it

you can replace the bearing if you want to but I just check them and put them back in , they can be knocked out quite easily just remember to remove and replace the snap ring on the pulley side . be sure you check the upper bearing for movement though. and replace the quick drive bolts.

Do it. Replace the bearings. It's all apart now so why not? It'd sure be a pita to have to change them mid season or worse, have it take out a shaft.

I just installed an axys shaft in mine. Was a peice of cake. Might be a bit harder with a taller track. Pull the skid, pull the quickdrive pulleys, pull secondary clutch, the 6 nuts on the clutch side of the shaft. Push theshaft through the hole in the tunnel on the clutch side until it clears the quickdrive bracket/bearing and pull it out. Reverse order to install. Rubber or deadblow hammer might help getting the shaft out. Mine was stuck a little

This is the first i heard that you can put the axys shaft in a pro. Does that mean no more clamp on the shaft? Is it a stronger shaft or different drivers? Whats the main reason for doing it??

thanks all

any tips to removing the skid?

I assume just loosen all tension on track, shocks, and everything else before actually removing??

remove all the tension, remove 6 mounting bolts, and i was able to pull out the skid. reinstalled without removing shocks as well. nows a good time to clean and lube the skid

was the axys shaft a straight forward bolt in?
it looks like the mounting flange is different and the mounting bolts are different. the older shaft has the bolts pressed onto the flange and is part of the shaft. the new axys shaft flange has the nuts on it and the bolts bolt from the tunnel side.

thx
