Pro taper bars on XP

Anyone change up the stock bars on the XP? Opinons or experience appreciated

Absolutely ! I have always changed my bars and LOVE the Pro Taper ones. I have done it on both '08 and '09 XP's. I run a 8 inch Fly riser with either the Pro Taper Pastrana bend or ATV bend, then I get a little more rise...I'm short...5'4 but love tall bars...didn't have to extend cables but did have to re route a little. As well as I like my heated grips so I just saved the hassle of trying to get them off the stock bars in one piece and cut them off, bought new OEM grips and put those on. I also take all my "hardwear" off the bars and mount on the consoul...toggle switches.......hope that helps??

A couple friends have the RC Evo Pro Tapers. 8" CR Billets......They love them. I love them. Kinda wish I went with the Pro Tapers and a 7" riser instead of the 9" and straight bars. Although they are the CF Fly bar.

I'll take some today...I looked at the pics I have and you can't really see the console part....
I put the stock mtn bar back on only cause yes, I need it sometimes...short arms...LOL !

I did it a couple years ago and would not do it again:
Plus:
-any bend you want almost
-really cool
Minus:
-riser / height combos are a bit tough to figure out
-brake lever mount may be an issue (I like relatively narrow bars - the brake ended up in an expanded area and was tought to get the 7/8" size to fit somewhere in between it and the 1-1/8" tapered area)
-bar ends are a bit troublesome - FLY Aluminum is what I used.
-mounting mountain bar was troublesome, again due to size.

not an XP, but i have PRO-TAPERS on my REV
i have the Carmichael bend w the XP stock 8" riser, powder coated black
friggen love it...except i messed something up and dont have warmers now!! ha ha!!

also switched out to a 440 style throttle and kill and used an RSI grab bar

It does get expensive too...
I didn't really have any trouble with mounting the mtn bar or throttle or brake, not sure if you took your controls off the bars though...as for the ends, I just put the stock plug back in....seems to work for me...
Risers, well last year on the '08 I had a ROX articulating riser...7" with the Pro Tapers...I liked it but this year on the '09 I went with the FLY 8" and I like it better even for my short a** !

Went out to the shop to take pics and my camera was dead ! LOL ! I will take them later today for sure.
My Dad put the gill vents on his '08 and loves them...he has had no bad luck with that sled and it rips !!!! I'm not a big fan of them...I do sort of my own thing when it comes to vents...lots and lots !! LOL ! Pic coming soon k.
