Pro running cool

I have a 12 800 rmk and after doing some research I have found tons of info about pros running too hot but nothing about them running too cool. I am having issues with keeping my sled over 100 degrees anywhere off trail. Down the trail it's a steady 123 degrees and as soon as I go off trail I'm dropping temp fast. Over the summer I rebuilt with wiseco pistons and put a par 13.6 head on. I'm running 50+ percent avgas. Anyone have some insight on this? I've tested the thermostat with heat and it opens and closes at the same time as the one out of my 01 800. The thermostats appear to be the same except the older one has a much smaller hole in it. I'm thinking about trying the thermostat out of my 01 this weekend and see if it's any better, maybe it'll help?

How low does the temp get off trail?

I run mine as low as 95 at times without issues, it usually runs 98 though.

Down to about between 90-95. It's always stayed about 110 before I changed the head. Not sure if that would have made that big of a difference but it could have. I guess the real question is, is it bad for it? I still always let it warm up to about 100 before doing anything, letting heat saturate the motor.

What elevation? You shouldnt need 50% avgas unless at sealevel...maybe. i run 30%av with 13.6 head at 2200 feet and have never had det.

Word is that the computer adds fuel for any temps under 98, i have never noticed this though.

Hmmmmm, I have a PAR (now MDS) head on my '15 as well and don't have any issues.....I'm a steady 115 all day in the powder with her pinned to the bars, but on the trail without scratchers down I can get up to 135+.

Do you have any upgrades/changes in the cooling system?
Stock coolant?

I'm running about 3000 feet to start up to 7000. I wasnt sure how much I needed so I was playing it safe. I'll be stepping it down next time I fill up. Thanks for that info.
As for additional cooling, it is a rmk not a pro so it has the front heat exchanger. I've always generally ran cooler than everyone else because of this. My only guess so far is to run that other t stat and see what happens.

Is the thermostat stuck open? I would pop the thermostat housing off and check it. Regardless of head design, try of fuel etc the thermostat is what regulates the temp. Unless you have a couple hoses in the wrong spot and it is somehow bypassing it, not sure if that is even possible.

I pulled the thermostat out and it was closed. I also put it in hot water and it opened then put it in some room temp water and it closed. Did this several times. I know the hoses are routed right as I only removed 2 I believe and they were different sizes. It holds steady at 123 degrees when on trail and only runs cool when off trail. I'm confused but I think I'll swap t stats and see what it does
