Pro running Boards Better?

So, a couple weeks ago I decide I should get some better boards for my Pro. Not because I thought I needed them but I do know how well they work on my IQ. They show up a week ago Thursday and I ride Friday in some of the deepest snow this year with out them. Middle of last week I install them and ride this past weekend with them.

100% better.

At this point I can honesly say I was "putting up" with the stock boards. Really didn't think I was missing much. I've read/seen F-Bomb beat-the-drum about how they're needed on the Pro even though the factory tried to improve the stock boards. And at this point I have to say it's a very good improvement. I hate to say it but BB's should have been one of the first thing I added to my Pro.

I agree, I think every manuf. will benefit from different boards/inserts, no matter what company you use.

Its so much nicer when your not fighting snow in the footwells/boards all day long. I had Better Boards on my last sled, and I really miss them.
It'll definitely be a summer project/mod for me.

The stock boards are good. The other ones are BETTER!! :loco:

In far northern california we don't usually get deep fluffy snow, but last weekend the snow was blowing up and through the better boards..

If you are going to buy them you should hold out a little while and get the new and improved ones. The news ones as I uderstand it, have a larger openning under your toes so the snow doesn't build up behind the vertical foot stop. Rob should chime in and he'll explain it.

Jack, at Carls Cycle has told me that they have improved since the previous design.

It's good to hear that they work that much better. It's also nice to see a thread not filled with shameless plugs, however, if your out there Rob, are the new BB's new and improved. Inquiring minds want to know.

Got my set of Better Boards allready ordered this week for my 2012 Pro RMK. I'm a little bit ahead of the ball game but I need something to do while I wait for it.

I would bet that it voids the warranty for the tunnel. No way they are going to warranty that after you chop it up. On the other hand, that's what insurance is for!

From a small business stand point, I wouldn't talk about my new improved product untill my current units are almost sold out. From a big manufactures point, who cares, they have already stuck the dealers with it for them to pay on.

I should have clarified the question reference running board mods and voiding warranty on the tunnel.

Anyone know for sure?

Any problems with the 4 year warranty after installing these?

If you mess your tunnel up more than likely It will be rider error in Polaris eyes.
Missed the just of the question, OPPPS Sorry

Have had no problems with Rob and his waranty on his boards. Had the old style on for 3 seasons and they just were not holding up to the stess I was putting on them. Rob took my sled and put the new and improved boards and side rails on my sled without hesitation, and gave me the standard replace price, for the new boards. I can guarantee you he stands behind his product.

I must say that with the new design, the snow falls out eaiser with even less effort, when you really don't have the time to mess with your snow build up.

If you haven't tried the plastic running board inserts, you don't know how good it gets. If stock Pro boards are a 2, Better Boards are a 6, Fastlane No-Snos and Throttle-Up boards are an easy 10. The benefit of plastic boards over Better Boards is as dramatic as the difference between Better Boards and stockers.

Improved BBs? What the Heeb? !! I've been Rob'd !!! :face-icon-small-hap Actually, they are working great for me so I'm not in the least bit upset.

Here's one thing I did do at installaiton. Before I cut the center out I added a rivet in between each of the factory rivets on the rail. The factory has them spaced at 9-10 inches and it just made me feel a little better. Also, I used Avdel Stavex type rivits for my installation. YMMV.

I am a little interested in these. Honestly, its more out of mere curiosity as I am 99% positive I am going with airframes this year (they seem impossible to beat). But.... how come these are so much better than the better boards? Anyone else have experience with both or better yet any photos with both?
How do they hold up and how well do your boots grip them? Details, I'm curious!

What I want to know is how you would strengthen the running boards with some plastic inserts??? And powder coated BB's wouldn't hold any more snow than plastic IMHO.

Have FUN!

I haven't seen anything better than airframes, but in the sub-$200 range, Throttle-Up boards are the ticket. They're better because plastic doesn't collect snow like metal does. When was the last time you had to kick snow off your hood? I've had Fastlane No-Snos for 2 years and the grip provided by set-screws is very good.

Throttle-Up boards are just like Better Boards, only they're topped with a thin layer of plastic to shed snow. One would think that painted/powdercoated metal would work just as well but it doesn't. I've ridden many sleds w/ powdercoated tunnels and they still gather snow. It makes no difference to me what anyone buys, but having owned both kinds I'm sure that the only people who buy aluminum boards are the folks who have never tried the plastic ones.
