Pro RMK vs ProClimb

so you knew to completely avoid using the bumper part, i bet even the bluaid drinker will disagree with this:clap2::focus:

Used it to lift out...used it to tow...used it to prop sled up while adjusting track, suspension, etc...what else does one use a bumper for? I know it's not the strongest thing in the world, but it did what it needed to do for many years. I get wanting to customize your sled, or beefing up things for piece of mind....but its not like it's unrideable just the way it is. unless your rides regularily consist of ramming things in reverse I suppose

update

Shop has my clutch fixed on the M8. I just can't trade it off of cheap. Thinking about pass it down to the wife and Snow checking for 2016.
Pulled up a pic of the 2016 RMK last night. Wow... looks nice. First impression of the RMK; Is that gas cap gonna neuter me? Looks better on the 2016. Small detail but one I noticed. The rear bumper is a $40 fix so no big deal.

My opinion would be a pro, or summit. Went to big horns and all you saw was Ski-doo and polaris. The few cats you saw were modified, or broken. The only cat in our group broke steering post first day, said he wants to upgrade to a pro.

The new Cats run just fine and ride really good as well. I would mod a Cat if I had one - the intakes and pipes and stuff actually make a difference on them. Engine mods on a Polaris - might as well save your $$ and just buy a turbo kit, or ride it bone stock IMO.

Despite the motor being solid tho....the Cats have been the least reliable in our group, by a fairly large margin. The secondary clutches f-up in about every way imaginable...jack shafts break, primary wears out and locks up, recoils break, steering posts. Lots of "smaller" stuff that still wrecks your day.

Lot's of koolaid......

I ride a 2013 Cat and have ZERO issues with it.

If I believed all this B.S. I read on this site about the Cat I would be better off with a M1 Abrams tank in the snow. I would guess that most of the posters about the Cat have about as much time with the Abrams as the ProClimb.

Here is what I have seen. IMO All three of the sleds are good, just different.
When I have swapped my PC with ProRMK and the T-motion DOO riders they all have dumped mine on it's side very quickly, So the Cat must not be that hard to tip up.... The interesting thing we all seem to be able to ride the same area just fine and not be towed back:face-icon-small-con

For the Cat, Doo T-motion or Polaris motor bashers, where are all of these sleds with the broken everything? I should have seen at least one for myself in the last 3 years lying dead in the mountains:face-icon-small-sho

So instead of bashing other brands tell what yours does both good and bad, and be honest about it. That would actually be helpful.

I wish it would SNOW!

I rode a pro for the last 3 years. Loved the chassis but I went thru way too may many motors and other problems with it that I needed a change. So I bought a 15 Proclimb this year (first Cat) I am not brand loyal by any meens either. So I rode the new sled stock for 1 ride. put on a can and a set of gripper skis. Changed the sled completely. So far I love this sled. does anything the pro did only faster. Mods to date are Clutch kit, Ice age pro-motion, skis, and can. Im happy I made the switch. Problem now is I rode a KTM 500 with a timberlsed kit

In my experience you just need to ride them both for a full day and see what you think is best. I am a hardcore Polaris guy and always have been, but around new years I had the chance to ride a 2015 proclimb with a 162" and I had a hell of a good time. I would probably buy an Arctic Cat for my next sled, and I have 3000 miles on my pro. The cat was bone stock just like my pro and that's how I would keep mine. I honestly could not even explain why I like the cat better but it was just plain fun to ride even though I think cat is a little behind on technology and they should steal a few basic ideas from polaris and skidoo. The only thing I can easily explain on why I liked the cat better was mostly because the cat will hold lines so good and take the hits for you, when the polaris transfers everything straight to you. However, the cat is so much worse than a polaris on trail and while riding the cat I was highmarked by a stock assault.

If you don't have to have the latest greatest thing, you're coming up on a good time to buy a left over sled or even a good used one from the guys who flip every year.

update

Nope... I am thinking about going to the Mt. Baker Shootout and do a test ride in March. Maybe buy a non-current or snow check. We rode MT/UT this week and its hard to justify getting in a rush when the season will soon be over. The UT guys we rode with were 3/4 on turbo'd cats. Some mention of the RMK drive belts failing under to much throttle/brake action, which is a common maneuver for me... leaves me wondering.

Buy a carryover Doo 163 T3, then you won't have to change your username.
Love my '14 163X.
