Pro RMK Quick Hood Removal

T, installed the kit on the 13 yesterday, took about 15 minutes, and after a couple trial runs took the hood off easily in less than 1 minute. Very happy with the kit, thank you!

Did you receive your kit? We are trying to keep track of mailing time to your neck of the woods.
Thanks

Yes I got the kit, I am in harvest so one day is like the next, I think it was last Thur or Friday. Looks like it will work just fine, Have not picked up my sled yet, maybe some time the end of this week.
Thank You for the quick shipment.

Pin Kit

On the pin kit rather than the hinge system, you still have your headlight and gauge wires to contend with, correct? So you can't exactly remove the hood but you can move it out of the way, or am I missing something? What are you finding works better? The hinge kit would at least hold the hood out of your way. Are the headlight and gauge wires long enuf to allow access with just the pin kit? Sorry if these seems like a dumb question!
Thanks.

Koot,

Once you have pulled two pins (5 seconds) and unsnapped the two sides (10 seconds more) you can:
Option 1. Reach under and unplug the main wire harness, at that point you are free to place the hood wherever as it is clear of the sled.
Option 2. Leave the harness attached and just 'tip' the hood up. (better for quick access ie: grabbing the muffpot)

I opted for the pin kit w/o the hinges, but if your looking for hands free, the hinge kit would be good.

What's that old saying . . . "It's not the size of the ship, or the motion of the ocean, it's the cute little way you get on and off !?!" :bounce:
