My sled has just under 10 hours on it and the other day when riding I noticed my high beam indicator on my mfd was flashing on and off. I then looked and noticed my headlight was flashing on and off, so I tried putting the lights on low beam and had the same problem. I rode back to the truck and loaded up thinking I was going to just find a loose pluggin. When I got home I started tearing into it and found that the light blue wire that goes to my hand warmer switch under the console had rubbed through on the left bolt that holds the upper steering stem. I will repair the wire and put some wire loom on it to keep it from happening again, hopfully my voltage regulator is ok after that was shorting out and going to ground. Everyone should check those wires, my buddies were rubbing also, he put some loom on his and is good to go now. You can see the potential problem if you remove your left side panel and look up under the console at the wires that go to the switches, they will probably be rubbing the left bolt that holds the steering stem.

the same thing happen to me except i was with three other guys and 25 miles back in the mountains at togwotee we got stuck in a blizzard so we waited it out and when it let up it was almost dark and noticed it when i started it up what a joke i was prty pist good thing 2 of the others had lights. hand warmers wouldnt work either and it was sparking under the shroud like a christmass tree
fixed the wire myself and no issues do to grounding out

If you have the time... could you post pics for the members to look at??

Thanks,
MH

I just looked at mine and it has 3/4" between the bolt and the wires. Need to try to reach up in there and see if the wires can easily move around though.

the brake light issue is caused from something icing up in the handle lots of people are having this happen including myself if it wont shut off put it in a heated building over night and it will be gone

i've been putting my googles and gloves on the head through the left panel to get them dry and taped up the wires there, thought it a little strange that so many were not in a loom or even wrapped. guess its time to invest in a little more rapping, better safe than sorry...

I had taken pictures just in case I have problems later, I will try and post them later my camera is dead. I will charge the battery so I can upload the pics.

^^ Just open the left side panel, look up at the underside of the console where the hi/lo lamp switch wires come down and you'll see where they maybe rubbing on the upper steering post bolts. Simple to spot, hard to take a pic of though.
