PRO RMK ice scratchers

On my last ride last season I broke off an ice scratcher.
Any recommendations for aftermarket ice scratchers or should I just replace with OEM ones?

2011 PRO RMK 800

Thanks!

The generic refill springs from WPS will work...the mounting is identicall. The WPS springs are just a hair shorter in overall length though. But they cost about $8 each versus the $45 each for the Polaris ones.

Im also gonna try the ski-z ski mounted scratchers like mentioned above in the link and these rail mounted ones. With this setup you can back up with them.

The Duraflex cable scratchers from these guys are all I run on my sleds. I leave them down 100% of the time. They're not super aggressive so don't expect a bunch of snow but they do produce enough to keep my Pro cooled and lubed except in extremely hard conditions ( think spring in the early AM when everything is frozen like a rock)

You can back up on them, you can load in the trailer with them down, etc.

I have run the stockers and the Ice Storms on my Pro. I prefer the Ice Storms in case I forget to left them up and back up. Plus they seem to spray more snow.

I have the cable style from " between the line design" on my SWB assault and I am not impressed. They didn't do much since they shorted the cable and made the cable stiffer and thicker. Before that the design was with a black cover over the cable and they where longer and easier to hook as well. They really worked when they were that style. I am going to try the ice storms I think.

I blew through two pairs of the cable scratchers in a few weeks last spring, both pairs came apart and lost the scratcher part.

I won't ever buy those craptastic things again :mmph:

Oh that's too bad to hear. I probably have a dozen pairs or more. I've only ever had one come apart, I called them and they shipped me a replacement no questions asked. I'm interested in trying their new style that mounts on the skis.

I do agree with one poster above that the new shorter design appears to be a step backwards for them. That's too bad because they seem like nice people who are trying to be innovative and really bring some cool things to the table for snowmobilers. It's a husband and wife operation in Idaho.

I've bent more of the wire style than I care to admit. No one in my family (including me) ever remembered to put the darn things back up.

I agree with Mountainhorse that the best solution is to buy a standard RMK with the extra cooling. Too bad they don't come in all the cool colors or I'd have ordered one! As it is I'll stick with my Nuclear Sunset Orange!

i take my reverse button and move it way down on the bars and backwards, this reminds me to put my scratchers up
i am going to try another style though
