LH... I agree mostly with you except for the supercharger belts.

MH Point taken, and thank you for keeping me honest and thinking, but of all the blowers in use, those two classes are likely a very small percentage.
However those two classes and the money that those classes bring to the table are what has pushed the belt technology to where we can enjoy the fringe benefits of their advancement in technology on our sleds.
P.S. Another fringe benefit of the R&D from drag racing; is my CVT drive system that will someday come to fruition when the cost of the control component becomes less than the cost of the sled. Total weight of the drive system from crankshaft to track will be under twenty pounds and likely under fifteen with other material technologies that are becoming economical these days.
