Pro RMK Clutch Vents Yay or Nay?

Does anyone have an opinion on removing the foam on the side panels?

I do. I remove every piece of foam on the panels and hood the second a sled gets home to my garage. It gets wet, carries weight and basically only serves as a noise baffle for the manufacturer. JMO

Good replies in this thread on venting, keep them coming.

A lot of people are talking about clutch vents and side panel vents. I haven't heard anyone mention vents for the gas tank console.

I made my own set of vents and I think the gas tank console vents will be the most beneficial in releasing hot air when moving.

Build thread - scroll down to post #6, that's where I start talking about building your own vents.

There are a lot of good venting companies out there and I have had my share of them on past sleds. I just wanted to take a stab at building my own with my own design. I haven't owned a sled without venting since 2006 or so. I consider the venting to be a proactive approach for those over the hood days that I rarely see but if I do, I want to be riding without stopping and worrying about under hood heat.

FOAM

Sounds good. Now what's the best way to remove them?
I have found out it's not as easy as I thought it would be.

Side panel

Jonce, pretty awesome to say the least. How did you do that to the top of the tunnel? Will the heat discolor it?
I would like to find some side panels for my 2011 pro that are exactly the same color as the hood texture everything Polaris doesn't offer them.

????????

I bought some vinyl from stickercity.com (car wrap section on their website). Just laid it down with some patience and a heat gun. Not sure on the heat and discoloration, we'll have to wait and see when the snow gets here. The vinyl is pretty thick, I think it will be fine.

I had alot of time on my hands this summer so I decided to take a crack @ building my own vents after seeing the price of buying some. I ended up making a 22 piece vent kit that was a TON of work, but I only have $105 into these and retail on all of the vents I made would be over $700. Do I think I need that much venting? Absolutely not, but since I had the time and materials I went for it. I figured getting rid of unwanted under hood hot air can't hurt anything. Here are some pics of the 22 piece ChadFab vent kit (6 of the vents arent pictured, footwell vents, console vents, and 2 on the exhaust side I havent riveted on yet)
