Pro RMK, 13 vs. 14 vs. 15 questions

I have 2 2013 Pro RMK 155 800s. I have 2200 miles on mine, and my "wifes'" a.k.a. (my backup sled :)) has 200 miles. I am thinking of switching my shocks, 3" track, can, etc. to my wifes' sled, selling my 2200mile sled, and then ordering a 2016. I was at the dealer today, and they have 2015 Pro RMKs for $9800, which makes me think twice about keeping either 2013. Couple of questions...what do you think my 2200 mile sled is worth? It is clean, straight, and has brand new side panels, shocks, and track. The wifes'200 mile sled is spotless, and bone stock. How much is it worth? Is the main difference between a 2013 and a 2015 simply the mapping and fuel calibration? Can I get the 200 mile RMK re-mapped and have it run as strong as a 2015? Thanks!

Well considering 2015's with warranty are selling for $9800 brand new. I wouldn't pay more than 7000 for a spotless 13 and 6000 for one with higher miles.

Sell all your extras separate I don't think they add a single dollar to the value of a sled but they may help for a quicker sale.

I have a feeling there will be lots of pros for sale this year and if you want to sell one the price is going to be disappointing. Hopefully the new sleds are worth the hit!

Running wise there is really no difference between the 13 and 15. 15 will have a couple of reliability updates and likely extend the warranty. Does your wife ride enough to justify a few $1000 for some extra warranty and a tiny bit of added reliability?

I just traded my 2011 ProRMK 800 for a holdover '14 800 163. I got $6100 for the trade and the '14 was sold for $8800 (plus $600 for the 3-year warranty). My 2011 had 1680 miles and was pretty much in like new condition. Some scuffs on the tunnel from boots, some crap in the belly ban from the valve drains. You have to be careful comparing sale prices to make sure you know whether the longer warranty is included. Polaris has two deals on '14s and '15s now: $1000 cash with std 1-year warranty and $400 cash plus 3-year warranty. With the new '14 and '15s selling for right around $9k you're probably not going to get much more than the mid 6's to low 7's for your higher mileage one. You can see from the for-sale forum section that the used ones seem to be moving pretty slowly.

Other than colors and graphics I don't think there were many changes between the '13s and 14/15s. Unless the carbon fiber overstructure was new in '14. They did resolve issues with the quick drive belt system for '14 though, which is important. But the '14s and '15s are mechanically identical, I think.

I would go with Plan A. Swap the goodies to the 200 mile '13 and keep it as back-up. Trade the 2200 miles stock sled for the '16. Expect to take about $6k and you shouldn't be disappointed.

I sold my '13 with under 1400 miles in mid Dec for $7500 when everybody was asking $8500, boom, gone in less than 24 hrs. I went and picked up a '14 holdover with 4 yrs warranty for $10k.

Other than the QD belt update, there is nothing different on the '14 or '15 so why update a 200 mile machine? Unless you just want to.

Thanks a lot for the feed back! I am going to go with plan A. I have had no QD or motor issues with my 13, so I will switch all the goodies over and ride the newer 13 for a back-up. I am going to ask $6750 for my sled, a 2013 Pro RMK 800 155 LE. Brand new stock shocks, track, and side panels that were thrown in by my dealer with my snow check. Well maintained, straight, clean sled. 2200 miles. Thanks again everyone. Also, the one I am selling has the LE white painted hood, which has a few chips, and places where the paint has come loose....has anyone found a good white paint for touching this up? It is pretty thick and glossy, and I was disappointed right away when I found out it was painted plastic, and not cast as solid white plastic...
