Pro-Ride spare belt location

Spare belt storage location problems.
When you use the factory storage location for the spare belt the clip for the hood vent will rub on the spare belt. The problem with that is it will ruin a $180 belt and possibly break the clip off of the hood in cold weather. If the clip ends up in the clutches or drive line that will suck, could chew up the faces on the clutches and end a day of riding. This should be rectified by Polaris.

See previous thred about belt location and fix. I had no problem all last winter with my Rush. Just make a dog bone shape in the spare belt with 2 tie wraps and it will fit in the bracket easily. Hope this helps.

Capt-Ken, I don't think the guys are talking about getting the belt to actually fit in the holder. But maybe I'm misunderstandig you as I haven't revisited the other thread.

Anyway, there's an interferance with the side panel vent tab & clip once the belt is installed in the holder. My dealer alerted me to this also. It will make the side panel deform a bit where the tab hits the belt. And possible other issues. My guess is, the fix will require drilling out the rivets and relocating the holder. Or that would be the simple fix if there's enough room right there on that face area of the hood to make this happen. I haven't explored it real close yet and am kind of waiting to see what my dealer tells to do.

Maybe not all are like this? Anyone?

This is the exact problem. Using a zip tie on the belt will not help this issue. Where the belt rubs on the vent tab on the side panel is about an inch from the belt clip.

Another suggestion, zip tie it across the front bumper bars under the hood, did mine and it doesn,t move or touch anything, with a little time I,m sure a bracket could be attached to the bars to cradle it even better.
