Pro Ride Belts

Sounds to me like it's worth the extra coin to just run the Polaris 115's on these sleds. I had one blow last year which lasted almost the whole season. That was my first blown 115. Seems cheap enough to me per ride factored out that way. Someone please enlighten me again on proper break-in or post a link to that thread.

Found an online source for the Poo 115 belt, $139

http://wwwpartspitstop.com

I was at the Novi Snow show yesterday, and a vendor had them for $192, and said that was the best he could do on pricing, told him no thanks, came home and ordered one online.

The 3211122 belt is similar to the 3211115 belt, but is cut rather than ground finish and is not as precise belt-to-belt in tolerance. JKinzer has had good results with the 122 belt. Similar compound.

That's what I was looking for all along. Thanks.

I ran the Gates belt all last year on two of my sleds with no problem. I made the deflection adjustment, washed and properly broke them in. Royalsupply.com for about $50. I ran these on my 600's but I wouldn't hesitate to put them on the 800 if I had one. The polaris 115 is a great belt but it cut into my clutch sheaves, too hard compound.

The 321122 is a softer compound than the 321115 and is recommended belt for use on the 600. It is a cut not ground finish as stated by MH and I have also used it on my 600 RMK with great success. It is way easier on the primary than the 321115 (less grooving) and hooks up great. I however have NOT tried it on my 800 so I can't say it is the low cost alternative to the 115 but the width is the same (1.460")

polaris belt 080 subs to 1115. 1115 is the belt polaris dials there clutches into so it is the one you should use. some of those off brand belts suck and if you check tension on them while on the clutch they dont always line up to spec. and cost on that belt is 142.78 so dont ask for a discount you want your dealer in business next year right?

I will be running an arctic cat 0627-048 on my pro after I wear the stock one out. The arctic cat belt is the same width, length, and compound and only about $70.00

Not true one part that does not have a decent mark up is belts, here is cost and msrp on the proper belt for 08-11 800 polaris sleds
Part Number Description Quantity Dealer Cost MSRP*
3211115 BELT-DRIVE 11.5CD CVT 1 $142.79 $178.49

i can't believe you sold me that belt for $150, man with all that mark up you could've bought a happy meal:pound: my god man your 51, next time we ride together i'd better bring some geritol for ya', always happy to look out for the senior citizens of our sport;)

The XS809 will run about 150-200 RPMs lower than the stock belt. You will need to adjust clutch for this. They cost about $100 after 10-20% off. Save reciept and for $20 they will replace it when it pulls a cord or is damaged. This is a good option if you run hard and go through a 2-3 belts a year.

Also, once you adjust your clutch back up for the lower RPMs, if you ever get in a spot with low RPMs you can always put your stock belt on and regain your R's for that part of the day.

Exactly. I bought one as a spare for $85 from Shadetree (I hear Sledparts.com has them for $79?) and plan to use it as a tuning aid if I need to drop some rpm's for those days when riding with the gfriend at lower elevations. Dayco sizing and quality was a bit off 5 years ago but they've turned that around. Checked the upper and lower cog width of the XS-809 vs. my 115 and they're both within 2/100's of each other.

Have FUN!

can someone explain the "belt wash" ive heard a ton of people say it, but never say what they wash it with. What is the best "way" to properly break in a belt? lets hear everybody's input here. also i would like to hear more about that $70 arctic cat belt. my pro is the first polaris ive owned.

Simply wash it in hot soapy water, with special attention to the side walls. Break in - Ride it gently for the first 30 miles or so. Then readjust deflection

according to the specs, the artic cat 0627-048 belt measures in at 1.46" wide X 47.187" long. This is compared to the 1115 and 1122 which are spec'd at 1.46" wide X 46.77" L. I could not find the side angle cut of the arctic cat belt either. It is 26 degrees on the polaris 1122 and 1115.

So, draw your own conclusions, the arctic cat belt is slightly longer so you would have to tighten up the belt deflection quite a bit from the start would be my guess. So as it wears you would have to tighten it up even more.

Also, if the side angle is different that could mess with stuff too. I know that AC run a larger diameter primary so it very well could have a different shave angle.

Anyone?

I know it's the wrong place for this but figured since this thread is specifically talking about this belt I'd post here too. I'm selling two 1115 belts if anyone is interested. I have one brand new one and one that has 1,000 miles on it. The used one looks brand new, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference on which is which.

Check the Clutch/Belt subforum for my post.
