Pro Oil line relocation?

I tried using the search feature and it's not so great on this forum with all of the traffic.

Anyways, I keep hearing about the oil line relocation that is stopping a mess that's being made I guess

I just keep seeing snippets of people doing the relocation but not a specific reason why, and I can't seem to find pictures of it either.

Sounds like something that needs to be done but my digging to figure it out is proving fruitless

Any info on why to do this and maybe some pics would rock

Take the stock tube off and into an auto parts store, get at least 2 feet to replace the old one. run that hose down the left hand side of the belly pan and out in the area just above the left sway bar mount.

There are two separate issues. One is a service recall that your sled MAY require. It is to insure the main oil line doesn't rub the bulkhead. Call your dealer if you need to find out if yours require the relocation.

The second issue if the output hose from the VES solenoid. Stock, it has a short hose that points down toward the pan in front of the primary clutch. Many guys don't like the little puke of oil that eventually comes out of that hose. Many, like me added changed out the stock hose and added 4 feet and routed it so the end would be under the chain case, then the dribble would exit the sled and not make a mess.

Hope that helps.

This is what's needed or what I did. Piece of 1/4" fuel line 2' long and 2 plastic 1/4" elbows.
First I cut about 2 inches off the stock hose put on a 90 elbow then the extended hose and used nylon ties to fasten along the bottom trispar cross member.
Route the hose hose down thru the hole in the side of the bulkhead just behind the can. There is a small hole right next to where the exhaust exits.
Cut the hose to length put the other elbow on the end (you may have to file the outside of it down to fit thru the hole) push the elbow thru the hole in the bottom.
I also cut the end of the elbow shorter so that its flush with the bottom of the belly pan. Being located next to the exhaust it wont freeze off or get packed with snow.

Here"s some pics....hope this helps:face-icon-small-win
