Pro motion

When someone says you have "improper technique" if you need t-motion or pro-motion or whatever that makes no sense. If there is a product that makes a sled easier to ride in ANY way then it allows you to ride better and become a better rider. Maybe sled manufacturers should start building back to the old school 80's sit down to ride sleds because you have an improper technique if you need rider forward or narrow front end or a longer track or more horse power. I guess all the big advancements of the last (mostly 10 years) on mountain sleds have been for nothing because they are not needed if you have good technique.

When the Pro chassis debuted in 2011 it made us ALL better riders! Just sayin'

And anything you can do to improve your technique is all good too.
 
Why do a lot of people feel any kind of flex in your rear suspension,makes your sled easier to ride.
1. Intiating rollover on showroom floor. Easier
Gives you a brief moment of zero resistance.
2. Holding a sidehill over terrain with bumps and uneven ground. More difficult
Imo for holding sidehills you need a stiff chassis running boards and non flexing rear suspension. If you have ever been a skier or snowboarder you will agree you have to be able to hold a firm solid edge.
3 Downhill sideslides coming down on a 45 degree angle. Means I have to pull the sled further into the hill to hold the edge. Sometimes no room to pull it over further.
If your interested in carving thru a meadow, making big powder turns it will give you the impression that it is easier.
If your taking big bites side hilling. The suspension and running boards. Have to be stiff. Depends on the riding you want to do.
Ones a steak knife, ones a butter knife.
I watch my XM buddies in some areas it makes it tougher to ride.
 
Interesting , not sure why there's still so many skeptics .

It's pretty simple , how well can a slick or mud tire make a turn without some serious scrubbing/trenching compared to a rounded edged/drifting tire .

Dirt bike tires use square lugs for traction but the foot print of the tire is rounded . So why is the lug of a mountain sled square on a flat foot print ?

This is kind of similar in concept and I thought I'd try this for giggles and the outcome is more than noticeable . It's not about what machine it's on but what it did to the handling characteristics .The front end washes out a lot easier because the skid does not resist as much . By the way I'm standing with feet on both sides balancing it one handed .

For the likes of me I can not figure out why a mountain sled has to have two skis with a ditch pounding A-arm suspension .

nothing is more fun than steeling my friend drews aero 13 xm. Popping wheelies while sidehilling across entire mountain ranges and listening to the witchcraft of the aero. It is SERIOUSLY a hoot.

On that note, when the **** hits the fan and you have to hold a line or climb out the top of the hill you can't come down, you couldn't pay me enough to trade him my pro. Granted our sleds are worlds apart but my boondocker ez ryde pro with a 153 shouldn't outclimb his 163 so bad. I contribute most of it to that skid. Not only does the gemotry promote sky high wheelies, when you are bouncing through 4 ft turbo trenches doing 45 up a hill that t motion makes me fee like at some point the sled is simply going to turn 90 degris underneath me. Propeling me into epic up mountain yard sale.

The whole "boondocking" everyone wanting to be chris b. thing is a fad. COME THE F ON. If you can't lay your sled over in a slow downhill turn in deep powder, go sit in the ladies room. The whole idea of having a suspension set up is for carying speed. You are supposed to go fast. The T motion is absolutely NOT designed for that. Instead of promoting mountain hoonage it promotes fear in the face of seasoned riders.

I am however excited to try the ez-ryde carv. I have long been trying to tell the massses of how fing awesome their current skid is. I am very skeptical about it, however if anyone can make it work it would be them.
 
On the showroom floor it looks great. On steep sidehill it panels out earlier. Polaris use this same argument in there 15 brochure. I'm not saying its a gimmick, but it is maybe a better piece on a sled that needs help in that department. One of the Pros biggest assets is the chassis, and the way it sidehills. IMO, don't miss with it. Buuuut if i still had my RT1000, it would be getting one fore sure

I installed a promotion on my axys yesterday and i had multiple issues pannelling out on the running board , i would loose tractionand have to flaten the skid out to get traction back.
Looks like i wasted 500 cdn on a gimick.
 
I and my boys have had Pro Motion on 3 sleds since 2 months after Iceage started shipping them and we go back and forth with people we ride with on the similar sleds and the Pro Motion sure make all facets of back country riding easier and we are only in the 5'6" to 5'10' tall and 170 to 200 in weight so for short people, the tip and hold is much easier. My opinion only!!

I like mine on my pro.. no game changer..doesn't hurt though like all the hater posts speculated...axys doesn't need it imo......

So I'm looking to put the pro motion on my Sno-rkt.
It's a 137" pro rmk skid. 800skidoo engine.
Read all the reviews but are there any new reviews good bad or other? My bike is already easy to ride but most snow bikes do have pivot skids too and think it may be worth the investment. Thoughts?
