Pro BD Turbo Dipstick Heads Up

Just got my sled up on the lift and starting going through everything, and noticed that my dipstick was no longer snug. I grabbed it and pulled it out without any effort(it was in lock position). I called boondockers to order a new one, and they said it has been a common problem with just the pros that they are building so much heat that the rubber is melting enough to change shape.

Thought I would just give a heads up so you can can keep an eye on yours in case you roll your sleds and the stick would happen to fall out and loose your oil.

Wow, same thing here. $17 later a new one on the way. If this doesnt work we will have to come up with something.

They are working on a fix for it. They are working with the dipstick company to produce one with better rubber.

One thing I noticed is be super careful when locking the dipstick down. If you don't push the lever the correct way it will bend the metal stick and make the problems even worse. In another words, don't let someone else mess with your stick :face-icon-small-blu

Thats probably the best advise ive heard on here. Mine is doing the same thing. Is this something BD will fix and send out a replacement to thier customers? If its as common as it appears to be they probably should. Ive only got 18 miles on mine and its falling out.

I noticed this a little bit on mine last year. I found that if I cleaned the rubber plug part off with some brake cleaner, and wiped the inside of the bung, it seated much better. Obviously not a final solution, but it did make me feel a little better. It seems to hold fine even on rollovers, but I try to clean it between most every ride out of precaution.

Along the same lines, how much oil are you guys using?

I have been checking both the oil dipstick and oil level. Mine appears to have dropped a little. Are you guys using much oil or any?
