primary Clutch problems

I have a 90 340 that i can't get the primary apart this is first the primary i have tried to take apart so help me. I have the snap ring off the back and the four screws but it will not come apart. Any ideas?

That is the secondary clutch...not the primary. Put the snap ring back on and soak the helix and shaft (where the snap ring is) with penetrating oil for a bit. The helix has rusted onto the shaft. After the oil soak, remove the snap ring and get a soft faced mallet and smack it till it comes apart. CAUTION the helix is under spring pressure/tension!!! It will come apart....be very patient. Hope that helps. FYI get a service manual. You should not be messing with the clutches if you have no experience, but the manual will give you some basic understanding.

I know what i'm getting in to but, i just needed to make sure there was not something i missed some where or some magic trick.
