Yeah - it will fit on the crankshaft. It wasn't until '07 when they went to the larger taper. Obviously, make sure you switch the weights and spring from your stock clutch. Also - I cannot remember if the 600 clutches had the standard clutch cover. It would be wise to the run the 'taller-bearing' cover on the 900's but you will need to get it rebalanced if you do indeed swap the covers.
