Prepare to be pissed ! WRNF Traval Managment Review

You're obviously just a commie.

If you weren't a commie you'd KNOW that whining about Obummer is the ONLY solution.

Writing letters? Contacting people who can make a difference? That's just stupid.

Like they actually read them. The only person who sees those letters is the 21 year old intern when she brings her head up for air.

F'in Obama... trying to destroy the world, AND sledding, all at once.

Commie.

btw... pretty disgusted at the idea that there are areas that are "trail only" now... absolutely moronic.

Commie. I bet you drive a Volkswagen or something! Hold on, maybe that makes you a NAZICOMMIE???!!!

LOL!

Actually, even though ONE letter may not make a huge difference, it's just like how one VOTE doesn't make a huge difference. It does add up, and it DOES make a difference. But hey, only commies write letters or do anything useful... we should all just bitch about obummer some more so nobody confuses us with commies.:face-icon-small-win

CSA sat down with WRF about the winter TMP decision after our appeal and were able to get a lot of the restrictions lifted completely like the areas south of Minturn, Pennsylvania Gulch, Spraddle Creek.

We were also able to get a lot of other areas reopened on a limited basis, like the Ten mile range area (basically south of Copper) . Local clubs are working with the districts to make sure this happens before this winter. We eventually got a decent shake on this issue

Agreed. A big thanks to CSA and local club members for sending appeals to Scott Fitzwilliams (FS supervisor). Scott has been very reasonable so far and I think he is trying to be fair to us. He inherited a plan that has been under way for nearly a decade. We have a couple guys in our club that have been working hard on this - props to them. Also, Scott (VP of CSA) has been huge in his work on the land management stuff. It's a lot of effort, but it seems to be paying off. WE could just ignore it - and the USFS would just ignore us.

We all need to keep fighting even if it is not the same state that you live in. If you ride in that state or might ever what to ride in that state send letters. I try to keep up with these things, for one more voice ever if it is from out of state.
Keep up the hard work guys.

So where are we with this? Did areas get shut down or is it just going through the works?

Based on discussions with the forest supervisor the areas addressed in the appeal will be open this year. The lcoal clubs have been doing a great job in working with the districts.

Best advice would be to call the ranger districts to confirm the area is open before you head that way. Just too many areas to try and list in a post.

I agree that the process is clunky right now - hopefully we can get it sorted out better for next year.

I will always take an area being open and poorly mapped over an area being closed and mapped well:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap

True! Thanks for the heads up on the progress! I'd hate to see anything i love to ride shut down.
