Glad to hear that your daughters are doing alright!

What a tragedy to happen to a smaller community. If the driver didn't have a license I hope she gets punished to the fullest extent of the law. I don't care if she's a citizen or illegal she deserves punishment for the pain that she's caused all these families.

My 14 year old daughter is home and doing well, she suffered chest trauma and was having difficulty breathing when she was airlifted to siouxfalls, after the bus accident.Her injuries are some fractured ribs, small tear in her spleen and a nasty gash on her leg, along with assorted bruises and cuts.
Even though our stay in the hospital was less than 72 hrs. it felt like a week. It was difficult to leave the hospital with her because we were leaving other families behind from the bus accident.
My 2nd grade daughter just had minor bumps and bruises physically, but she remembers everything from the accident and was very distraught when she saw her sister lying on the ground unconscious.
We have been starting to visit the families that lost children and attending prayer services and funerals. tim

that would be the smart thing to do as well as deport her afterwards but the sad thing is that she will be back up here within a month! they also said they are going to appeal... i'm afraid it may not be over.

my parents are friends with the guy who was in the pickup that the bus fell on & he said she just sat in the courtroom with no emotions or remorse looking like a little princess. she sits in jail while he spent 2 mo in the hospital & 4 in a nursing home. he is just starting his life over now but will never be able to work again.
some of the kids that were in the bus are also still suffering. still on crutches or in a wheelchair. one child has had 4 surgeries and had to give up all sports & his whole summer. or the nightmares they have every night.
last but certainly not least are the families of the children who lost their lives that day. their children are gone & nothing will ever bring them back or heal that pain they live through every day.
