powerclaw on 146 rails?

Hey guys,

I am building a bare chassis project, and I've got most of the parts besides an engine (because I haven't decided what route I want to take with it yet)

I've got stock assault rails and competition track but i would like to be able to run the 153 pc, I was looking around to see if anyone has run this track on 146 rails or just with 155. My turbo assault has 155 rails but I would prefer to not have to buy another set.

I have involute drivers (I believe they are 8 tooth, but I would have to double check), and I was thinking that I could run 9" wheels maybe? Anyone know if I would be able to get enough tension on the track with that setup? Or are the rails just too short?

I could always run it on my other sled, but it would be cool if I could make it work on the shorter rails. I have a feeling it would be too long but I figured I'd ask before I waste the time trying it out.

Thanks in advance

All i can tell you is that with 144 rails on my iq i am out of adjustment on my 146. Thats only 2 inches more track...

yeah I have a feeling its going to be too much track for the skid. The 9" wheels would take up a bit of the difference and an offset axle may help too, but i mean 146 to 153 is almost as much difference as 155-163. So im pretty doubtful that it will work.

Its not really a big deal because I have enough parts to make a few different combinations. Ill probably have to run the competition track and run the powerclaw on my assault (155).

Yeah if youre local, I would consider that trade. If youre not local im not sure how we would do a trade though.

Im in Edmonton.

Check tracks usa to see if they have any kind of extension package that might work with what you have...worth a look.
