After last season on the stock 5.1 and the assault track. I decided to go with the powerclaw on my rmk. I went this route because riding here on the east coastriding consists of a lot of rocky and stumped filled hills. My 5.1 track was blowing apart. Enjoy. 427627_3103490796928_1553990643_2777480_1880201088_n.jpg 2012-02-09_17-55-39_14.jpg

Are the new white drivers the same size as the stock black ones? Why would you purchase introvert drivers and not extrovert?

b/c combo drivers are more hype than useful. run proper tension and they are completely unnecessary.

I had extroverts on my last sled. First run out with anti stab kit I hit a stump and broke antistab and ripped track off. So this time I went with 8 tooth involutes instead. Besides the track fit so tight that until it strectches I dont think it has a chance in hell of ratcheting.

I did the same thing under advisment from Carls and it works so much better than the 5.1 that I wont look back ,,not saying there arent better tracks but Im happy!!!!!

PC

I put the PC on my dragon with introvert drivers from carls also. When running introverts, the anti-stab kit is not required. Just like the last pic shows, i had to have my rear idlers all the way in, it is a tight fit & my drivers have never ratcheted. The PC was a definite upgrade over the 5.1. What durometer track did you put on, mine was the 90 duro.

Wayne-how am I gonna get one of those into my SB Assault this summer? Sleds gonna gave 3000 miles on it, just think it will be a matter of time for the track to let go. Love the PC think it is the right track for our area-not that we needed them this year. Hope all is well, might run into you out there again some day.

I would think the Comp Track with some screws in it would be good for our area, but I don't have the screws yet, nor have we had enough snow to do a good test.

Word!

Introverts don't allow as much track deformation at speed = higher track speeds than extroverts. Honestly I'm convinced extroverts were just a big marketing ploy, especially for the larger rear wheel kit guys who needed to run the track extra loose so as not to interfere with over-taught track issues as the suspension goes deep into the travel with wheels it wasn't designed for. I still find it hilarious listening to the guys claiming more track horsepower for loose tracks because they can spin them by hand when static. Guess what? Tracks aren't static at WOT, LOL!

Yes there probabley are better tracks but I have been very happy with the performance that I get out of the powerclaw. I did a little side by side testing with my 07 dragon and my pro before switching tracks. My 07 had a powerclaw 80 durometer and my pro the 5.1. My 07 beat my pro in a drag race with a rolling start. I could feel the 5.1 spin and watched the powerclaw hook up and go. Skeld I ride in northen Nh and maine out towards the border of canada. Tom if you decide to swap tracks let me know. Hopefully we'll meet up somewhere up in the burg. Let me know.

You know, that Powerclaw looks really REALLY similar to a cut 5.1 track with some finger lugs on the outside edges (right down to the exact same lug height now(same bulkhead clearance which is huge for these sleds in wet snow))! I'm sure it's better (I really like the finger lug idea on the outer edges) but for my money, F Bomb's track mod was like $18 for the tool and an hour of my time! Would like to see how the two compare; F-Bomb, you ever run someone with a PC?

Cool, I ride up in the Allagash area of Maine mostly. Good to see another lost eastern guy on here. :face-icon-small-coo

Just ask Jack Struther's what he thinks about the Powerclaw vs. cutting the 5.1....

I also have one tip that will make installing this track easier. When installing the drivers/driveshaft it is a really tight fit. The first time I installed the track I ended up ripping the driveshaft seal, I found this out the next morning when I had a puddle of oil on my sleddeck. So the second install after replacing the ripped seal I cut an GOOD 1/8 TH inch of of 2 rows of lug. This made sliding the driveshaft in so much easier. Hope this helps anyone thinking of swapping in this track.

Yeah well they're selling the PC and Avid drivers so that's hardly an impartial opinion! And I think much of their conjecture was based on how it performed on the Dragons (they were pushing the PC on the Pro's before they had hardly any seat time; ditto with their clutch kits which have now changed slightly for the Pros).
