I have an '08 Dragon 800 that runs strong and doesn't seem to have a bog in the mid range. i only have 30 miles on it since i bought it used but am concerned about the possibility of going too lean. i know a lot of you are running the power commander for various reasons. my question is did you install it because you had a bog or as preventative maintenance? any reasons not to run one?

I put one on to richen up my midrange and get rid of a bobble in the engine. It worked.

i put one on my 2009 assault, it helped with the mid range stumble and it is just a good add for my sled with my full slp.

Good add on overall and mine wasn't to expensive...230$ :)

That's a great price. where'd you find it?

I remember looking at the part numbers between the '08 and '09-'10 Power Commanders a few months back and I’m 90% sure that they are the same. I believe this will work on your sled, but you may want to double check that part number to be postive. This is the cheapest one I could find that is new. Beats the ~$400 one form Dynojets website

I'd get one if i had the money but I spent it on the PMS "fix kit" instead. Get that kit before anything if you don't have it yet. It will save you 2 grand and all the pain with a blown motor down the road!

Polaris and their 800 piston clearance...:face-icon-small-dis :deadhorse:

What he said about the PMS kit. ^^^^^^^
Get it done. It'll save ya even more than 2k. And flash your ecu to what they recommend.

So, I just bought a PC5 part number 70-125 that has another sticker on it that says 19-007 PCV,09-10 polaris cfi 4 (sled)
Will it work right on my 08 Dragon 800?

Sorry for the thread hijak, sort of back on the OP's topic actually...

I am planning on calling SLP before installing it, and dynojet if I have to. Got a good deal on it used so no complaints there, but it would be a bonus if it worked on my sled too... :face-icon-small-sho

I have a never on a sled NEW IN BOX PCV for that application...$225 and actual shipping from Meridian Idaho.

Also note quys with D8's that are currently dissatisfied with getting whipped. I also have an SLP twin pipe complete kit (head, pipes/can, ECU) that will make your Polaris 800 COME TO LIFE. Plus I'll give you the exact clutch combo. EAT A PRO FOR LUNCH...WORK A SINGLE PIPE CARLS 860...I DID and you can TOOOOOOOOOOO.

PM me for details on the PCV or pipes.....cleaning out the old performance closet.

i did mine for both reasons.

1 - preventative maintenance, i didn't want the hassle of blowing the motor up and being out 2 large.... couple o' hundred bucks to the door....
2 - mid-range stumble issue, this really sucked when riding around home on the rivers.... pretty darn close to sea level, HUGE stumble between 6 and 7500 rpm.... cleaned it right up by using DTJ stoutner map.
3 - also did the fix and the sled woke up even more.... still running the DTJ map and it pulls pretty gross.... i love it

To the OP: If Fbomb wants to sell you a new PC5 for 225. I'd say you'd better snap it up.... Like now!
