Is anybody running a 2.25 PC track on an 09 Crossfire SP. Wondering how well they do, I live in Minnesota and ride the snowies once or twice a year.

anyone that rides behind you will hate it.

ha, thats for damm sure. I have to ride in the back when we ride trails since i put mine on. It is the best mod on my sled though, you will love it in the pow, and it works great here in the flatlands too!

Thats funny you say that cuz i been beotchin about that with my buddys 136x 2", its time for some payback. It kicks in the powder though, thats all I care about. What other mods could I do that would still make it ridable on flatland. Thanks guys

I run one on my 09 1000, LOVE IT!!!! Kicks butt in the pow, but also does very well on hardpack snow. We have a lot of hard windblown snow up high, the PC sidehills across the hard stuff better than any other track i've had.

You know... If they're behind you, maybe they need to speed up.

put a 2 wheel kit on while your at it, i notice a difference when i put that on too. Slp pipe setup rips also and you dont need a fuel controller at any elevation, kinda spendy but worth it. i put a bunch of vents on, at least a 2 inch riser is needed unless you are short. Im thinking about some new skis too and like the powder pros, but i am worried about riding with them around here like when the snow gets hard 3 hours after it snows haha. A lot of people say they suck on hard snow. Also kneepads are a must. The frogzskins vent covers for the nose are also a good thing to keep your hood from cracking from snow freezing in there and they keep snow out of your hood. I have done all of these things except the skis and still ride around here just fine, just cant go 110mph anymore because of the deeper lug track.

If you are going to run any trail, invest in a set of scratchers. They will say your sliders and help cool in lower snow or icier/ hard conditions.

I run them all the time even with my 1.5" track. But i am looking to possibly invest in a powerclaw as well.

yep - we put on my dad's CF8 SP. Awesome in the pow for the shorter track. What a fun and fast sled. :D

MM, now you guys have me wondering if I should do the same to my 06 X-Fire. I have been looking for a cheap used track to bump it out to a 144" Challenger. Is the PC that much better of a performer? I run the shortest track of the group and could use some help. Just looking at Tracks USA I can not find a 144" PC. Is this track available?

as for scratchers I don't run a ton of trails but have run some hard snow for a while, I also don't run the snow flap and the PC throws so much snow around its never gotten hot.

The powerclaw is a 3" pitch track and you 06 crossfire runs 2.52" pitch drivers. You would have to switch to 3" P drivers to run the track, but i still think the 141" track will be too long for the 136" skid stock.

If you are looking for extensions, my buddy has a set of oles 144" extensions and a 144x15x2" track in near perfect condition for sale. PM me if you are interested and I'll get you some more details.

I just like them to have just in case. fairly inexpensive and a good safety measure for those days you run into iffy conditions.

Thanks for all the info guys. Xfire800, I also had those tank pads on my 06 xfire, they were awesome. As for the other mods I am for sure going to do some vents. Do you think it needs a riser with the telescoping bars. Having the dealer do a 2 wheel kit when they do the track xchange. Any else boys

I'm 6'6" and don't need a riser on the 09 telescoping bars, I had one taller and it made it so that I had to use my arms more, to me it was a disadvantage, at original height I can get more leverage with my whole body making it easier.

Sorry i forgot about the adjustable bars, mine is a standard and doesnt have them so i put on a 4 inch riser.

You can fit a 141 with rear axle from avid products w/offset to take the M -series 8" wheels 3.0 pitch drivers from m and very important anti- stab wheels.
