I know struthers is running PC on their pros but there snow is heaver than dry colorado snow does it work as good as the stock 5.1 Ihave one under my dragon but its turboed and gets on top right now,,my pro is basically stock and was wondering weather it would be a trencher the stock pro gets on top pretty fast but at about 30mph it feels like it looses traction and is just spinning, any one running one in colorado/snowies,

i've had my dragon in colorado pow with the powerclaw and the 5.1 like the powerclaw much better. on super deep days it may hinder slightly but not enough to over power the gain in track speed and weight savings

thanks kinzer ,,Im parting my dragon out and and was thinking of selling the PC and the drive axel ,,But now I think Ill keep them, I belive the drive axel is the same between the pro and the dragon???

The Pro and dragon drive shafts are completely different. The Pro's is .125" smaller in dia and it is tapered on both ends.

on weight difference, my 5.1 actually weighted 1 lbs lighter than my PC on my bathroom scale. 155 vs. 153 fwiw.

The PC equipped Pro seems to ride a little more level in the deep pow-- not so nose in the air like with the 5.1

IMO, just cut and track screw the stock 5.1 . I have not done this on a pro but on my dragon that set up worked damn good. I got that track from keith kurtis who said he had it on one of his 600's... That was the year he won jackson. Id say if it works for him, it would work for you. I think nhte power claw is overated.

I would agree with you on most days, but not today. Yes the screwed track would work but he is not climbing jackson, he is riding in the steep and deep where there is mainly powder and maybe every once in a while something the screwed track could actually dig into. I just believe that the screwed track would add weight that isnt needed. My .02

if you do every other lug you get kind of the best of both wrolds imo. You get GREAT traction on any type of packed or set up snow, trackion on ice, logs, rocks, dirt, and the stiffer lugs helps more the snow. The lugs you don't cut will be a tad longer than the ones with the screws and will keep the pow performance up too. To each his own. If the guy is just running in deep pow, why not pick up a used camo extream?

This "F-Bomb" type mod would work in heavier snow...if he is only running in deep, dry pow then there is no reason to switch from the 5.1. It will out perform any track on the market in those snow conditions. The PC works real well in ALL snow conditions, although not as good in deep and dry as the 5.1 but it will walk away from it when the snow sets up a bit. The CE seems to lean a bit more towards hard pack then the PC...both tracks work better in dry fluff but the CE shines when heavier snow with more moisture content or in the spring time.

Thats what I was wondering ?? Ireally like the 5.1 boondocking in nthe deep but the PC seems to work better when going faster but I dont seem to get stuck as much with the 5.1 LOL
