I purchased a hand pump made for siphoning liquids it has a 3/16 hose on one end to fit into small areas and pump out the hose going to the water pump and it drains the whole engine I do this after doing the reservoir you do not lose any antifreeze this way.
If the rubber orings will not stay in place I use vasoline to hold them in place it work well when they are over stretched also. Just cover the oring with vasoline and work it in to place and it melts a low temp and leaves no residue.
