I'm starting today and hope to have everything done in a couple days.

If anyone has any pics, tips or advice, I'd appreciate it.

Got everything apart...sure looks like the head shim could be done with engine in???

Please tell me the aluminum dryer vent was for R&D mock-up....

Just did a head shim on my nytro with the engine in, no problem. Loosen the front motor mounts and pull the long rear mount bolt, and lever the engine forward about 1.5" and you'll be good. No sense making more work out of an already big job.

Ok so far

The engine is out. Head shim is done. Timing gear mod is done. Engine is going back in. I'm thinking I should have most of the project done today.
