Powder Pros or Simmons for my M1000

Had a set of Simmons on my 2004 King Cat but can't decide if I want the Simmons on my M1000 or Powder Pros? Thoughts?

Powder pro's with the Carl's mod. I have had the simmons and they were nice, I think the powder pro's are better ski when modded. I didn't really like mine until they were modified.

I haven't done the mod to my PP's simply because I can't find a fault in them the way they are. Dunno. Both sleds that I've put them on, my 1M mod and the old guys M-Series 1 Liter work awesome with the ski. Might be that they are both super light in the front end that I don't notice a problem? Either way, I'm not going to cut my skis until I've ridden a similar sled with thm cut first. They work really well as it is, I'm afraid to wreck em and change my mind on them.

BTW - I had Simmons on my 1M and when i switched to the PP's.....well I won't be going back anytime soon.

Powder Pros!!! I put 200 miles on a brand new set of Simmons this year and yanked them off. I was having issues with them knifeing under at high speeds while turning. Put my Poder Pros on and been great since!!

I have the Simmons and find that it makes the track work wonders compared to stock skis. With the stock skis the rear track was overworked and I was thinking about switching ou the track. The only reason I'd like to try the Powder Pros is due to the stiff steering on the Simmons on the trail at low speeds, and when there's 4-8" of fresh on a groomed trail they seem to push and drift more than I'd like from a ski.

i ran the gen 2's

the was off the hook. i ended up sending them back after a season for a full refund.

i have parbolics on there now but i think i am gonna go back to the stockers, i don t think they are that bad once you lighten the pig up.

Simmons are trail skis. The only thing they do is keep it from darting. Powder Pros are the only way to go for deep powder. I have a set of gen II on my Nytro. They keep it from diving in the right snow but they do make it harder to tip up. They suck to steer in harder or heavier wet snow. You also are adding 10 lbs to you're sled. Need two sets of skis for the Nytro.

My 2 cents...

Hilly, forget the Simmons on the M1 - I had a set and hated them - made the front end end feel 100 lbs heavier. I've not run the powder pros on an M-chassis, but I've had luck with both the USI X2's and MODS. The MODS are the best ski I've ridden on - float well and carve even better, but they do have one downfall - if you hit something hard the aluminum bridge may break, something that the plastic skis from USI or SLP will not do. But if you can avoid the rocks - the MODS are the way to go. Hope this helps.

Bought a set of Powder Pros for the up coming season. Can't wait to try them out along with the BD-Xtreme rear bumper mod. The 2007 M1000 should be a new animal.

USI Tripple threat, and Mods are my 2 favorite skis. I've tried all of them too.

ran simons and pp on my 900 the pp are way better. put the pp on my 1000 for fist trip and found the steering to be very very heavy. the snow was very wet and heavy though. will try them for one more trip and if they are the same in light pow then ill put the stockers back on. rode a 1000 with simons last year and found that they made the front feel real heavy. it fell down hill real easy when side hilling and was more difficult to pull on its side then with the stockers.
