Powder Coating

How does powder coating the a-arms hold up to the beating in the backcountry??? Was thinking about touching up the front end a little, but if it would be a waste of money then I might as well not even do it...thanks for the opinions

Im curious also! I would like to do my A-arms also. Thinking black!!!

powdercoating is ALOT stronger than regular automotive finishes, including the oem sled mfg's refinishing processes for the most part.

one trick i have learned from my buddy grapeape (tard, on here) is, after powdercoating your parts, the areas that get the highest wear from riding, ie: the fronts of the A arms, add clear numberplate background that can be bought at all bike and motorsports shops for a reasonable fee. this is a thick, clear, protector for your newly refinished parts.

this decal is similar to what the automotive manufacturers used for stone protection in high abraision areas on cars and trucks.

It holds up good, Ive got 2 seasons on mine and it still looks great, some small chips but you gotta be real close to see it.

I coated the skid and front end, only paid 150 bucks.

Hey Muzbomb, I live in Alberta and was wondering where you got your powder coating done from.

10-4! This has worked for me for 3 years now.

I bought a set of holz arms that are powdercoated last year, and on a set of stock A arms I'd have cracks & nicks & dings within the year, on these they look factory fresh 4 steering posts, 2 hoods, a motor, and a bulkhead later...

Very happy with the finish.

I really think it's kind of a waste of money to powder coat 4 steering posts, 2 hoods, a motor, and a bulkhead.

I never got my bulkhead powder coated and my sled RIPS!
And Doood where are you putting all those steering posts, talk about blinging up your sled, are they all the same color?

The hoods and the motor would look pretty sweet though:peep:
