Powder coating handle bars

I don’t see any issues other then the mount points of the bars and controls. Powder coating is thicker so you will need to clearance the riser a little to allow the bars to fit again and any tight fitting controls. I would rather clearance the riser then trying to keep paint off the mount points. It is not much thicker then regular paint but it is enough to cause clearance problems when you have close tolerances.<O:p</O:p
You may have to use a little more glue on your grips because the painted surface will be a little slicker then bare motel. The paint might even help a little with the grip heaters because the heat loss by the bare metal.<O:p</O:p

I just powder coated my handlebar riser on my 08 600 which would be basically the same thing you are talking about. I did the riser and the rest of the clamp that goes on top and bottom and had no trouble getting it back together. Have not exposed to to any stress riding but im guessing that it will hold up good.
