I am new to this also having just bought mine.

What I am doing is downloading it from the unit to the computer using their software, then I import it into another program (pinnacle studio 12). I edit it in the studio 12 software.

The studio 12 software has an inport function that lets you bring in the video from any source including other on computer software. You can download it directly from the POV to studio 12 but the video doesn't seem as crisp. It gets kind of grainy.

My home computer is dial up, so uploading video is sort of like trying to play ping pong in a tornado. It's possible, but more trouble than it's worth. I have just been playing with editing right now and havent' even tried an upload. The studio 12 software has it's own upload and share funtions.

Once you studio 12 it you are able to what with it?photobucket or u tube?

Yes, you can upload it like any other file.
I am still playing with the various editing software and am not sure which one I will be using on a regular basis. that was just one of the cheaper software packages that was recommended, so I am trying it out.

anymore suggestions because i'm hearing lots of stuff about how crappy the software is! we pay top dollar for this gear and what good is it?

Here is a short of the wife and I playing in a field.
I used windows movie maker for this.
I need to take a look at the photobucket settings because I think it compressed the video when it loaded and degraded the quality.

ok i got wmm opened and i can't get clips. can watch on windows media player.can't seem to get the clips to save!

chit ollie i looked at both movie maker and player no sign of publish button?

in windows movie maker. I am using version 6.0
on the top row is the following in this order.
File, edit, view, tools, clip, play, help
On the second row is the following.
under file, edit, view is import media
Under Play is auto movie.
Under Help is publish movie.

Once you have the movie laid out in the story board and input your transitions, then hit the publish button.

One thing I had to do to get it to work right was to go into tool, then options. Unselect DivX. When I had it on it would compress the movie and essentially cut it in half, compressing the movie into the top half of the screen and leaving the bottom half green. Turned it off, published the movie and it worked fine.
