Possible Culprit for Piston Skirt Failures 2011 Pros!

just another reason to ditch oil injection on all mt. sleds. if you could do it on a pro i would in a heartbeat. if they need it to oil the bearings then have a setup to do just that. wheres the advantage of oil injection??? without it you have a constant oil/fuel mix ratio instead of one thats all over the place, this can only make your engine last longer. a better mix of your fuel/oil. lighter weight because your not carrying around all that extra oil you don't need. not to mention oil caps that don't seal, oil that ends up all over your clutch/engine when it gets stuck on its top. oil pump failures that cost you at least a top end if not a whole motor. if your not smart enough to add 4 ounces of oil to a gallon of gas maybe you should have stayed riding the short bus;)

niko, i'm talking premixing gas. 4 ounces oil to one gallon of gas gives you a 32:1 ratio. a ratio 2 strokes have been running for decades, one i've been using since the mid 70's. this would be a very good ratio to run if you could do away with the oil injection. what i ran in my M for 5 seasons. i'm mixing an ounce of oil to every gallon of gas i put in the tank on top of what the oil injection gives in the stock setting, which is never a constant amout...
