Positive Polaris Axys Review

Whatever weights you are running to get your desired rpm...the sled sure does rip when you get the targeted rpm's:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-coo:face-icon-small-sho

I personally love the snappiness of my sled with the 10-58's in versus the other 2016 Axys with the 10-60's...just seems so much more peppy if ya know what I mean:)

I like snappy too. I don't want my motor loaded more than it should be either. But I hit 8500 RPMs in a very brief moment with 62's! I'm thinking of trying a different primary. Right now I'm working on Chris Burandt's formula for the SLP setup. Either way...I'm having a blast on this sled.

I just don't understand how some sleds can run 10-60's and the owners say it tachs out good while others run 10-58's and get the desired 8,300rpm...it's just odd to me

I agree, my buddy is slightly different than me too. Clutching is just different on these sleds than the Pro was.

Most people only take the time to post a thread when there is something wrong with their nice, new shiny toy...so I figured I would take the time to write a positive review on this site:)

Got out this last weekend in some very, very deep snow here in CO. I have a 2016 800 Axys with the 155" 2.6" track...around 25 hours on the sled and somewhere around 150ish miles. Engine all stock except for a HPS can. Running Polaris 10-58 weights in the primary and all other clutching is stock.

I have to say that overall I am super impressed with the power that this new engine is putting to the track...have switched back and forth with 2013-2015 Pro's and the power is sure noticeable!

The main thing I noticed in very, very deep bottomless powder this weekend was the "lift" that the sled creates when you hit the throttle. I didn't really notice this in the past several rides and I think it was because the snow just wasn't deep/fluffy enough to have a respect for how the sled pops up on top of the snow. It's truly crazy how fast the sled wants to pop up on top of the snow with the front end and the track just seems to bite good, even in 2-3 feet of blower powder!

Other thing I'd like to mention is the overall deep snow performance. We were literally submarines this past weekend and even with snow entirely covering the intake vents/dash/headlights the sled ran extremely well! Had a few instances of "powder bog" but a quick blip of the throttle had the sled cleared up and back turning 8,300rpm in no time. I was super impressed at where the sled would go carrying probably 100lbs of snow on its hood:)

So, just wanted everyone to know that I had a very positive first experience in "over the hood" powder on my new Axys:face-icon-small-hap I love the sled so far!!

I'm very happy with my 16 Axys RMK 155. Mine is stock with an HPS can as well. I just finished a weekend at the Snowy's. We found spots where there was over 4 feet of powder, snow was going over my handlebars! My sled only has about 6 hours on it, but it still ran great, still seems very oil rich. I couldn't believe what I could climb out of even when the intakes were clogged with snow. My last sled was a 08 rmk 700, what a huge improvement!

How do you guys like the HPS Can? I had one on my 13 SBA and loved it. I haven't decided between the HPS or the SLP for the SKS..

I finally got past the 18 hours.. I'm at about 23 hours and 500ish miles. The sled is amazing. Even on trails (not much snow out east yet). Right now i'm pulling about 8450-8550 at 1100-2000 feet with the stock set up. Going to add some weight after I see if the can changes anything. Sled has been all smiles so far!

I really like the HPS can, not super loud, but deeper tone. Mine weighed in around 6.5 pounds. Fit great with stock pipe. Biggest con was probably the price.

I too LOVE the HPS can...ran one on every Pro I owned.

Biggest benefit, other than the weight savings, is that is allows me to mount a muff pot right where the can meets the pipe for easy access:face-icon-small-hap

The 5 Axis RMks that often ride in our group are very happy with there sleds. That been said all of them had previously road PRO RMK s. All love the throttle response and Quick revving engine. The chassis handles very well and is for sure a step or two ahead of the last generation PRO.
The rest of our riding buddies ride new or near new T 3's .
A few of them have taken test rides on our Axis sleds and all have had said they did not mind riding them :) Saying they worked well . As we r die hard Polaris riders they are die hard Doo faithful. No one is changing brands any time soon.:face-icon-small-coo
If anyone is conscientious about Noise pollution i would suggest the SLP silencer . Might be slightly heavier then other CANS but it is quiet with a very nice sound.
Sled also runs fine with no hiccups or burbles. My son but a NPP Trail can on his Axis RMK aND lost 100+ rpm. Sled ran fine but lost power and was LOUD !!!
One other rider in our group Has a new JAWS can on his Axis and it does occasionally burble but the engine RPM is the same as stock.
I but full SLP pipe setup on my sled and it runs flawless now that I have the correct amount of weight in the primary .
Am using Team rooster weights with 3 silver bolts and a thin washer under each bolt. Think they weigh 74 grams on my scale.
Before anyone goes off and say there is no way a axis will pull 74 gram weights !!!!!
the Team weight has a different profile and they do not act like a standard Polaris weight.
A direct comparison to a polaris weight as far as grams would be to use a 66 or 67 gram weight . hope that clears that up. Also riding BC around 5000' - 6700'
