i have a 800 xp 154 and riding in the steep and deep at franklin basin. i only got 45 miles out of a tank of gas and my brother has a 800 xp with a 146 and he only used less than 5 gallons. has anyone had this problem.

i have a 2007 xrs 159 and i have also had similar problems. I was leaving black streaks all over the snow from a very rich condition. Did u check your plugs? Are you leaving the black streaks when you put it to the grip? Ended up being a faulty dpm. which i no longer use.

Check your enrichener linkage, possibly it is on slightly. I saw a buddy chase that problem for 2 months on an XP. went thru jetting & needle positions (we had put in 07 adjustable needles) only to find out his choke was on a little bit. Adjusted the linkage & 100% now.
what kind of XP is it?

I've been having this same problem on my 06 rev and it turns out the Throttle Position Sensor is faulty. It is supposed to be done at the dealer tomorrow, so I haven't tested the mileage but they assured me this was the problem.
Two other things that could easily cause it:
the air temperature sensor being disconnected in the airbox
the DPM being faulty for one of two reasons: there is a vacuum leak in a hose or in the unit itself, or the solenoid is faulty/disconnected
