polaris water pump belts..Please read

well after running the 800's for a while I am getting sick of the water pump/oil pump belts breaking, yes even the gates kevlar breaks and its always anoying to swap out on the trail... Well... GREAT news the gates company makes the new style "GT" belt for out size !!! it has 4 times the load carrying capacity of the powergrip series belts. these belts were designed for extream load transfer and are used for supercharger belts in topfuel ect...


The correct part number is = GATES PowerGrip GT 5MR450-09 it replaces the weaker powergrip htd 450 5M 09K

I just recieved 2 of these belts and the are about double the thickness with the improved GT, tooth..cost was around 9 bucks each !! Do yourself a huge favor and run this belt !!!

Did you have any problems or saw interfearance between the top of the belt and the aluminum casting just above the belt?

My OEM belt seems to lightly touch the casting (seen by lite rubber debris and lite skuff mark on casting).

Curious if you had any problems - i was going to trim-away a little casting if needed.

Where did you find these belts? I've search on the net using the part description, but nothing clean comes-up.
