Polaris Update Piston....Good-Bad???

How many miles are people logging on their two ring updated piston? I have heard of lands breaking.....has anyone seen this happen? I have a pretty fresh top end and don't want to break stuff!

I currently have a sled that im updating some parts on that has over 2000 miles on the 2 ring piston, and they still look good. Customer is going to run them another season.

The new pistons have a pretty beefy ringland, If you stay away from deto they will last longer than you should leave them in.

i put right around 1800 miles on these pistons at 10-12lbs of boost and they look great. replaced them to start fresh for the season but plan on going 2000 miles before doing another top end

here is a little info for you guys. I was supposed to go pick up a sled from a guy on here yesterday. It was an 09 PG boosted 800. He started it up, let it warm up, and proceded to drive it up the ramp. The motor started making some bad noises, immediately shut it down. He pulled it apart, and sure enough, a broken ring land. 500 miles on the NEW pistons. 1000 miles total on the sled.

I agree it shouldn't happen, but it did. I've heard more success stories with turbos from guys that use single rings vs. the new dual ring.
